(TOLEDO, Ohio - August 19, 2010) - The Placers Car Club American Graffiti Tour at Toledo Speedway was a success yet again, marking another super cruise night for Make-A-Wish of Northwest Ohio. Once again, the cruisers came out in huge numbers in support of the show for Toledo-area children.

(FLAT ROCK, Mich.) - Super Late Model points leader, Paul Pelletier, won his third consecutive feature and fourth of the season. "That yellow hurt us. The front tire's going flat, but lately it seems to run better on the flats (last win, the rear tire went flat in victory lane). It's been a dream season. It was fun tonight, even with all the traffic," said the 2006 division champion. ...

Flat Rock, MI  (9-4-10) -- Despite very cool temperatures and gusty winds, a good crowd ventured to Flat Rock Speedway Saturday night for the Diamond Racing Products Season Championships.  Stan Yee Jr., Dennis Whisman, Dan Ford Jr. and Steve Chartrand took the feature wins, while Paul Pelletier, Jeremy Vanderhoof, Ford Jr. and James Rae secured the 2010 track championships.  The evening was capped off with a fantastic fireworks display.

(TOLEDO, Ohio - September 15, 2010) - 2008 Glass City 200 race winner Harold Fair Jr., recently-crowned Flat Rock champ Paul Pelletier and northern Michigan racer Mike Luberda Jr. are among a flurry of entries that have arrived for the Great Lakes Helicopters Glass City 200 presented by Cherry Picked Auto Parts.  The Super Late Model invitational is set for Saturday, October 2.  The rain date is Sunday, October 3. ...

(FLAT ROCK, Mich. - September 18, 2010) - A large crowd ventured to Flat Rock Speedway Saturday night for the final race of the season. The evening was filled with action, fun, and excitement as the rescheduled Griller's Select BBQ Sauce School Bus Figure 8 race highlighted the big event. Costa Cardasis of Griller's Select presented trophies and a case of BBQ sauce to each of the feature winners. David Price and Jeff Maran secured their track championships Saturday night.

(TOLEDO, Ohio - September 25, 2010) - Toledo Speedway's "Short Track Wars" event took place Saturday, highlighted by the first-ever road course type event, utilizing parts of the ½ mile, ¼ mile and pit road.  Billy Earley was the winner in the entertaining 15 lap event, with Cory McCaughey, Tyler Rycenga and Rob Roney also claiming feature wins.

(TOLEDO, Ohio - October 5, 2010) - For the first time in the history of both the United States Auto Club (USAC) and Toledo Speedway, the famed Silver Crown Cars will make their initial appearance on Saturday, October 16 at the ½ mile paved oval.  The "Rollie Beale 150" will honor Toledo's very own Rollie Beale, a past champion in USAC and former director of the Sprint Car Series. ...

(TOLEDO, Ohio - October 12, 2010) - In the last 11 years since the Glass City race was reinstated, only twice has rain affected the race. Back in 2005, the race was called at half way (John Doering Jr. won) and the 2010 rendition of the race. The Great Lakes Helicopters Glass City 200 presented by Cherry Picked Auto Parts started under cold and very damp conditions and made it only to the 10th lap when it was put under rain delay. After an hour and a half rain delay it was decided to try on Sunday. Sunday wasn't much better, still cold and windy and by the end of race, the heavy misty rain had returned. ...

(TOLEDO, Ohio - October 12, 2010) - Bryan Clauson, who won an ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards race at Gateway International Raceway in 2007, is one of four drivers with a mathematical chance to win the USAC Silver Crown driving championship in Saturday afternoon's Rollie Beale 150 at Toledo Speedway. The promising championship race features a separation of just one point between the series' top two drivers.

(TOLEDO, Ohio - October 14, 2010) - Saturday's Rollie Beale 150 at Toledo Speedway serves as the season finale for the USAC Silver Crown Series, and in a fitting tie at the home track of the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards, will also feature several drivers with ARCA experience. This week, Brian Tyler and A.J. Fike (No. 3 RFMS-Liberty Village Beast Foxco) spoke optimistically about one of the series' most dominant storylines.

(SOUTHGATE, Mich. - November 8, 2010) - Race teams, officials, family and friends met Friday evening for the annual Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways banquet, held at the elegant Crystal Gardens Banquet Center in Southgate, MI.  The evening was hosted by track announcer Gary Lindahl.  All the track champions received their championship jackets as ARCA President Ron Drager led the toast to the champions.

William Gillelan, long-time car owner for the legendary ARCA late model driver Joy Fair, passed away December 8 at the age of 82 after a long illness.

"Gilley", as he was known to his friends and competitors, teamed with Russ Wainscott and their driver, Fair, and amassed an astounding list of victories and track championships throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and much of the Midwest. Included on that list are 10 Flat Rock Speedway championships and 7 Toledo Speedway track titles in the ARCA Late Model division.

The jolly old white haired (ok, grey) dog himself has etched his name in the record books January 6 at Glass Bowl Lanes in Toledo, nailing down his first 300 game and a 779 series to boot for the PB Fabrication team.
 
After several hundred years of trying, Gary Lindahl bowled a perfect game!  As of press time, he was still buying rounds at the bar (sure). 
 
Anyway, congratulations to the voice of Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways.   Only some of us can be perfect……. ...

(TOLEDO, Ohio - January 20, 2011) - With the New Year comes the announcement of a new business and new sponsor for Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways for the 2011 season.  Fastime Racing Engines and Parts of Wyandotte, MI will sponsor the fast qualifier awards for both the ARCA Late Models and Street Stocks at Flat Rock, and will do the same for the five (5) ARCA Late Model Gold Cup Series events held at the 2 tracks.

(WARREN, Mich. - January 25, 2011) - The annual Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club Awards banquet held in Warren, MI January 15, honored track champions throughout the state of Michigan.  Several of the 2010 Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway champions attended the event and were called to the stage to accept their plaques. (TOLEDO, Ohio - March 24, 2011) - Toledo Speedway is proud to announce the return of Great Lakes Helicopters as the sponsor of its signature event, the Glass City 200 Super Late Model invitational.  The Almont, MI based business has agreed to enter into its second season of support for the 23rd running of the event at the Glass City oval.

Toledo, Ohio--April 28, 2011:  The second season of the Valvoline Instant Oil Change (VIOC) Summer Racing Series presented by Cumulus Radio will kick off at Toledo Speedway for the first event on Friday, May 6. The concept groups together 10 Friday night races at the Glass City oval.  The Toledo-area Cumulus Radio stations will provide the exposure for the Series throughout the 2011 season through on-air spots and various promotions, including live-radio remotes from various Valvoline Instant Oil Change locations.

Practice at Toledo Speedway today, May 1, 2011, has been cancelled.  The practice has been rescheduled for Wednesday, May 4, 2011.  Pits will open at 4:00 p.m. Practice will run from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Toledo, Ohio—May 13, 2011:  It was just another day in paradise at Toledo Speedway Friday evening as Mother Nature continues to play havoc with the 2011 race schedule.  With the heat races completed and the Buckeye 305 Sprint Car feature on the track, the rains hit the speedway and washed out the Grogan’s Towne Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge-Ram Scout Night.

(TOLEDO, Ohio - May 20, 2011) - The skies turned blue, the sun came out and hundreds of kids jammed Toledo Speedway for the Wendy’s/Kickin’ Mule Car Wash Kids Night.  All kids to age 14 were admitted free and received a free hot dog, chips and a drink, courtesy of Sherwood Foods, Seyfert Snacks and the Dr. Pepper/Snapple Group.  The Valvoline Instant Oil Change Centers provided free T-shirts to the kids to color  upon their arrival to the speedway.

With the delivery of a new shipment of racing fuel at both tracks comes a new price; as expected, a price increase.  Effective June 1, 2011, racing fuel at both tracks will now be $7.50 per gallon (was $7 per gallon). 

Should the next deliveries drop in price, we will, in turn, drop the price.

(FLAT ROCK, Michigan - June 4, 2011) - Despite temperatures in the mid-90’s and high humidity, a good crowd turned out for Monroe Evening News Night at Flat Rock Speedway Saturday evening.  Sponge Bob Squarepants greeted race fans, some wild incidents and 2 at-the-stripe finishes kept things exciting.  The Volcano Fireworks Company capped off the night with a fantastic fireworks display.  The track also hosted its annual Racing Fan Club Night.  The Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club presented Late Model driver Dan Trosen Jr. with a duffel bag in honor of his dedication to the sport. ...

Willie (Bill) Leach, the father of Flat Rock Speedway Enduro tech inspector Bill Leach, passed away this weekend in Memphis, TN.  He was 89 years old.  He resided in Olive Branch, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held at the JL Peters Funeral Home, 3880 Fort Street in Lincoln Park, MI., beginning Thursday, June 9 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, June 10 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, June 11 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday.
