Toledo Speedway

(TOLEDO, Ohio - January 20, 2011) - With the New Year comes the announcement of a new business and new sponsor for Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways for the 2011 season.  Fastime Racing Engines and Parts of Wyandotte, MI will sponsor the fast qualifier awards for both the ARCA Late Models and Street Stocks at Flat Rock, and will do the same for the five (5) ARCA Late Model Gold Cup Series events held at the 2 tracks.

Former Flat Rock and Toledo Late Model racer Clayton Smith and his wife, Christine, have purchased the assets of the former National Machined Engine business, located at 2325 Fort St. in Wyandotte.  The recently-remodeled shop is located on the south end of the same building and features a sales showroom and the complete engine building shop.  The Smiths sold their home in Canada and have moved to the states, close to their new operation. 

Plans call for additional engine-building equipment to be added and a complete stock of equipment for the showroom in order to become a one-stop shop for area race teams.

Fastime has agreed to back the Fast Qualifer Awards, a cash bonus, for both the Flat Rock ARCA Late Model and Street Stock divisions this year.  The business will also sponsor each of the five (5) Fast time awards for the ARCA Late Model Gold Cup races in 2011, with 2 races at Flat Rock and 3 slated for Toledo Speedway.

The husband-wife team's goal is to provide "an affordable, clean, efficient operation."  "Being a racer, we know the effort that goes into putting a car on the track.  Our goal is to provide great service at a reasonable price," noted Smith.  "Our motto is to build it fast and make it last."
