Toledo Speedway

The new schedules were released December 31.  Check the websites.  This is the second of our winter bulletins.  All bulletins are posted on the site...no direct mail.  February issue will be posted around the 21st or so.  Flat Rock office is closed; Toledo phone number is 419-727-1100.  Please direct all calls to Toledo.  Please share this bulletin with those who do not use the computer!

TAX FORMS/WINNINGS:  The trial 1099's are being mailed this week.  If you have changes, call!  They will be sent to anyone earning $600 or more.  They are issued to the driver unless you have filed a tax form with us or made provisions. 

DAYTONA 500 PARTY AT BAR/GRILLE!  Sunday, Feb. 20!  Food and drink specials all day.  Doors open at 11 a.m.  We'll be giving away prizes, such as pad rentals, track rentals and more!  Make your plans to join us!  Prize drawings will take place at half-way mark of race.  You must be present to win!  Admission is free!

SUNOCO RACING FUEL:  Stay tuned for an upcoming announcement regarding Sunoco Racing Fuel.  Purchasers of fuel each week will have a chance to win cash, along with a season-end award program!  For those of you that buy drums of fuel, we now have a program in place!  Call Scott at 419-727-1100.  The complete program will be announced soon.

DTS DRIVE TRAIN SPECIALISTS:  Will return as sponsor of the Flat Rock Street Stock class!  Our thanks to Sandy Rissman and staff at DTS.  Their number is 586-778-0540.

STANFORD-ALLEN CHEVROLET/CADILLAC:  will once again provide the tracks with a safety truck.  Their number is 734-242-4200.

RULES:  Changes were sent out before banquet.  They are posted on website or call us for a copy.

SPORTSMAN:  A 1-6-11 bulletin revising the rear spoiler rule was posted on the website and mailed to driver/owner list.  If you have questions, give us a call.  The change was made so no cutting would have to be done on the ABC type spoiler.

TOLEDO pre-season practice session is Sunday, May 1, from Noon to 5 p.m.  Friday night opener is May 6.  Just announced:  Toledo's season starts April 23 with the CRA Crate Late Models and USA Modifieds.

FR pre-season practices:  Saturday, April 23, noon to 5; Wednesday, April 27, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Saturday night opener is April 30.

MEMBERSHIPS:  will be mailed to drivers and car owners only after February 1.  IF you need before that date, call the ARCA office (Sherry-734-847-6726) or the Toledo office and we'll get them to you.  If you need more, call the track.  2011 rule books will be sent with your membership when you join.  Cost is same as 2010 for FR/Toledo memberships.

STREET STOCKS/FACTORY STOCKS:  As announced in August, the Toledo Factory Stock division will be merged with the Street Stocks and will run under that name.  Factory Stocks in current form may run at Toledo ONLY for 2011, 2012 seasons and will weigh minimum of 3000 lbs.  In 2013, all cars will be Street Stock legal.  Street Stocks can now run at Toledo and Flat Rock.  Toledo purse for this class will be announced no later than March.

Car Numbers:  As always, we will try to work with everyone....We are working with the issue of duplicate numbers with the merging of the Factory Stocks with the Street Stocks.  Call Scott if you have a question.  We will hold your 2010 number for first 3 weeks of the season...you can call if you will be out later in the season and we will work with you.  No communication makes it very difficult...stay in touch with us on this.  IF you need a new number, call us!

Pad Rentals:  Will be mailed out in late-February.  2010 renters will have right of first refusal, but must be paid by the due date or you lose your pad.  A waiting list is being compiled at Flat Rock-call us if you have not done so yet to get on the list. 

Season tickets/gift cards:  Gift cards are just $25 and make great gifts, and they're good at both tracks!  Call today to order either item!

RACER'S REUNION/MARFC MEETING:  Saturday, March 12.  Reunion is open to EVERYONE, free admission!  Great day with old photos, etc....if you raced around the area, there's probably a photo somewhere of you and your ride!  Reunion is Noon to 5, with Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club Meeting at 6:30 p.m.  Mark this date on your calendar.  And just announced, we will have a LIVE BAND after the meeting! 

JEFF'S COLLISION 4 CYLINDER DIVISION:  As announced at the banquet, Jeff and Rose Wells have agreed to serve as sponsor of the 4 Cylinder class at both tracks.  A weekly purse has been established also.  Details were mailed to the 4 Cylinder drivers.

NEW SPONSOR JUST ADDED:  Former racer Clayton Smith has purchased the assets of National Machined Engine and has started his new business at the same location, Fastime Racing Engines and Parts, on the north end of building, with sales showroom and complete machine shop.  Clayton and his wife, Christine, will sponsor the Flat Rock Late Model and Street Stock fast qualifier awards and the 5 Gold Cup fast time awards.  Their phone number is 734-281-6752.

BANQUET:  Like everything else, we have had to re-think the banquet.  We are up in the air as to what we do...the most cost-effective way is to have the banquet(s) at the Speedway Bar and Grille banquet room, which has undergone some remodeling-new tables, chairs, etc.  Tickets would be much less, probably a cash bar also.  IF we stay where we are at, we are looking at tickets over $44 each......feel free to call Scott to let us know what you think.
