Flat Rock, Michigan—June 11, 2012:  As Flat Rock Speedway prepares for the Saturday, June 23 Diamond Racing Products Joy Fair Memorial 100, lap money is being taken at $5 per lap.  The leader of each lap in the 100 lap main event for the ARCA Allegiant Gold Cup Late Model Series will receive the bonus awards posted; As of June 11, the sponsors are:

(TOLEDO, Ohio - June 8, 2012) - It’s the race that’s described by race fans as a “can’t miss race, you have to see it in person” and on and on.  It’s the All American Coach “Fastest Short Track Show in the World,” starring the Town Money Saver MSA Winged Super Modifieds and the winged Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints (AVBBSS)!  Created by Toledo track management, the event has become one of the top open-wheel pavement races in the country.  Time trials have taken on a name of its own, as the 2 groups vie for supremacy---who has the fastest race car on the planet!  The date is Friday, June 15.

(TOLEDO, Ohio - June 8, 2012) - A week ago, rain and cool temperatures brought racing action to a halt at Toledo Speedway.  Fast forward 7 days later and Mother Nature greeted fans for the Wendy’s Restaurants-sponsored Kids Night with sunshine and blue skies.  Wendy greeted fans as they entered the track and took part in promotions throughout the evening.

(FLAT ROCK, Michigan - June 9, 2012) - A good crowd ventured to Flat Rock Speedway Saturday night for the Lakeshore Utility Trailer Sales Kids Night.  Each child to age 14 was admitted free of charge and received a free hot dog, chips and a drink, courtesy of Sherwood Foods, Jim’s Butcher Shop, the Dr. Pepper/Snapple Group and Herr’s Potato Chips.  Jerry Lee, Rich Frantz, Rich Abel and Jeff Wells Jr. captured feature event wins.

(TOLEDO, Ohio - June 16, 2012) - Jason Cox and Mike Lichty were the big winners in Friday night’s All American Coach “Fastest Short Track Show in the World,” for the Town Money Saver MSA Winged Super Modifieds and the winged Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints (AVBBSS) at Toledo Speedway.  Tom McGuire of All American Coach, along with his grandchildren, presented the 5 foot trophies to the winners in the Sun Drop Winner’s Circle.

(FLAT ROCK, Michigan - June 16, 2012) - A huge crowd ventured to Flat Rock Speedway Saturday night for the Pizza Hut School Bus Figure 8 races.  The fans were treated to a tremendous race card, with action and excitement the name of the game.  Ray “The Animal” Gaddis survived to win the School Bus Figure 8 feature, 13-year old Grant Quinlen drove like a veteran to win the Michigan Legends feature, Gary Cronenwett came out on top in the wild ARCA Parts Galore Figure 8 feature, the team of Tom O’Leary IV/Jim Brazeau took the Figure 8 Train race and Ray McClure was the victor in the ARCA 4 Cylinder main event.

First I have a correction. Eric Lee’s sponsors are: Fraza Forklifts, Dusty's Collision, Exotic Automation, First Impressions Cement, ABC Plumbing, Berringer Law, Duane's Roadrunner's ... I had them wrong after the Spartan race.

Dennis Strickland won his first feature of the year. “We had worked all week trying to get the car back to where it was before the race at Spartan, up late every night. Both quarter panels were replaced as well as the front filler panel. Tina cut all the vinyl up and had it ready sitting on the counter in the garage. We have a new puppy (Missi) and you would think we would know better than to leave the vinyl UNattended. But here it was 9:30 in the morning of the race and Tina had to re-cut almost all of it. Some we put on with tooth marks and all. On the way to Flatrock, I said you know with all the bad luck we have had lately maybe we will win tonight, and we did. First time ever I won the heat race and the feature!” said Dennis in an email... (FLAT ROCK, Michigan - June 18, 2012) - A total of 23 cars have entered as of Monday morning for this Saturday’s 1^st annual Joy Fair Memorial 100.  Bob Fox of Diamond Racing Products, a former competitor of Fair’s, has graciously stepped forward to sponsor this special event.  With the blessing of Joy’s family, Flat Rock Speedway will honor the memory of Joy Fair with this race.

(FLAT ROCK, Michigan - June 19, 2012) - Current point leader and 2-time ARCA Allegiant Gold Cup champion Mike Root of Grand Rapids, MI has filed his entry for Saturday’s Diamond Racing Products Joy Fair Memorial 100 at Flat Rock Speedway.

(FLAT ROCK, Michigan - June 20, 2012) - As a tribute to the memory of Joy Fair, a special memorial decal will be available at Flat Rock Speedway Saturday for the Diamond Racing Products Joy Fair Memorial 100 at Flat Rock Speedway.  Fair’s long-time friend, Rand Thompson, is conducting the sale of the decals.  To date, $1000 has been donated to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Joy.

(FLAT ROCK, Michigan - June 21, 2012) - Flat Rock Speedway’s Diamond Racing Products Joy Fair Memorial 100 pre-entry list has grown to 30 cars as of Thursday morning.  The Saturday, June 23 event will pay tribute to the late Fair, who passed away in December of 2011.  Fair is Flat Rock’s all-time win leader with 159 victories and 10 track championships.

4-time Flat Rock champion Dave Kuhlman, one of Fair’s chief rivals in the 1980’s, has re-surfaced and will be at the track to compete in the 100 lap feature race.  Dave sat out last season due to his work schedule, but has prepped his car for Saturday’s contest.  Additional entries have arrived from Danny Slater, Jim Bailey, Derrick Sheppard and Jeff Plumb.  Brent Jack and Mike Young have withdrawn from the race, but the field still stands at 30 machines. 

The Thursday night Placer's Car Club Classic Car Cruise-In car show at Toledo Speedway has been cancelled due to the weather.

The next car show is Thursday, July 5, with Bob Connelly performing.  Show time is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Admission is free.

(TOLEDO, Ohio - June 21, 2012) - Toledo Speedway will present its 2^nd open-wheel racing event of the season Friday evening, June 29 for the annual Hemelgarn Racing/Super Fitness United States Auto Club (USAC) double-header.  The 2012 edition of the event will feature the USAC Traxxas Silver Crown Cars and the USAC Mopar National Midget Series. 

(FLAT ROCK, Michigan - June 22, 2012) - A total of 31 drivers have entered Flat Rock Speedway’s Diamond Racing Products Joy Fair Memorial 100 to be held Saturday, June 23 at the ¼ mile paved oval.  The 100 lap race will pay tribute to the late Fair, who passed away in December of 2011.  Fair is Flat Rock’s all-time win leader with 159 victories and 10 track championships.

(TOLEDO, Ohio - June 22, 2012) - Qualite Sports Lighting Systems, Marco’s Pizza and Parts Galore were all part of Toledo Speedway’s first Autograph Night promotion of the 2012 season Friday evening.  Fans mingled on the track with the Toledo drivers and the Michigan Legends drivers, who were making their initial appearance of the season at the Glass City oval.

(FLAT ROCK, Michigan - June 23, 2012) - Second generation driver Harold Fair Jr. survived numerous yellow flags and sped to victory in the Diamond Racing Products Joy Fair Memorial 100 lap race for the ARCA Allegiant Late Model Gold Cup Series Saturday night at Flat Rock Speedway.  Fair, who passed away in December, was represented by his wife, children, grandchildren and great, great grandchildren in pre and post-race ceremonies. 

Track management announced that the grandstand will now be known as the Joy Fair Grandstand at the ¼ mile paved oval where Fair collected 159 feature wins and 10 track titles during his illustrious career.  A huge #1 and Fair’s name were painted on the infield grass by race director Jason Sanderson for the event.

To:  Toledo Speedway ARCA Sportsman division teams

Effective with the Friday, July 13 ARCA Sportsman division race at Toledo Speedway, and for all future races, drivers will be required to have 2-way radio communication with a spotter located in the designated spotter area for the feature race. Drivers will not be allowed to be on the track in the feature event without the spotter in place with a working 2-way radio.

(TOLEDO, Ohio - June 26, 2012) - The wildly-popular Midwest Monster Truck Tour is preparing for their appearance for 1 night only, Friday, July 20 at Toledo Speedway!   Woodville Auto Finance has signed on as the title sponsor, with the Toledo Blade serving as the presenting sponsor for the night of family fun and entertainment!  A rain date of Saturday, July 21 has also been established.

(June 29, 2012) - Santa Claus is readying his sleigh for the annual Christmas in July prize giveaways to be held at Toledo Speedway Friday, July 13 and Flat Rock Speedway Saturday, July 14.  Prize donations are being sought for both tracks as the Jolly Old Elf prepares for his visit to 2 of his favorite short tracks!

(TOLEDO, Ohio - June 29, 2012) - Toledo Speedway’s ½ mile high-banked, lightning-fast paved oval is the site for leg number 4 of the 6-race ARCA Allegiant Late Model Gold Cup Series Friday evening, July 6.  Harold Fair Jr., winner of last Saturday’s Gold Cup race, the Diamond Racing Products Joy Fair Memorial 100 at Flat Rock Speedway, is primed and ready to make it 2 in a row.

A brief rain delay at 5:10 p.m. is now over!  The track is being dried and Silver Crown practice is next!

The Midgets completed 5 set of hot laps by 5 p.m.  

The temperature has dropped, there is a light breeze--a great night for racing!  The skies are clearing to the west, and the Silver Crown cars are getting in line for their practice.  Time trials will follow...we are still anticipating a 7:30 p.m. start tonight!

(TOLEDO, Ohio—June 29, 2012) - Caleb Armstrong and Jerry Coons Jr. scored victories in the annual Hemelgarn Racing/Super Fitness USAC open-wheel double-header at Toledo Speedway Friday evening.  Ron Hemelgarn, a local businessman and the 1996 Indy 500 winning car owner, presented the 5 foot trophies in the Sun Drop Winner’s Circle.

Practice was delayed about 75 minutes when rain came in, but the heavy stuff stayed to the west and south of the track.  The crowd was treated to a great night of open-wheel racing and the evening turned out to be perfect for racing.

(FLAT ROCK, Michigan - June 30, 2012) - A very warm and humid evening and a long night of racing greeted fans at Flat Rock Speedway Saturday night.  With the rescheduled 250 lap Enduro race, the race card was filled to the brim.  Dennis Strickland, Clyde McKee, Chris Fitzpatrick, Eric Hoffman and Kyle Metdepenningen took feature wins.
