Grillers Select BBQ Sauce to Sponsor Flat Rock School Bus Race Sept. 12
FLAT ROCK, MI: (8-6-09): Flat Rock Speedway officials have announced that Grillers Select BBQ Sauce will sponsor the track's School Bus Figure 8 race, set for Saturday evening, September 12. The made-in-Michigan product will also be available for purchase at the track's concession stands for the remainder of the 2009 season.

1970-FAIR TAKES MID-SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP AT TOLEDO
Joy Fair made it two for two, taking the 50-lap ARCA Late Model feature Sunday night at Toledo Speedway on the heels of a win in the 50-lapper Saturday night at Flat Rock Speedway. Joe Ruttman led the Toledo main event from the onset and paced the first 23 tours around the half mile oval until Fair took the point.
...Kyle Busch set to Race, Sign Autographs August 14 at Toledo
TOLEDO, OH: (8-5-09): NASCAR star Kyle Busch, already set to compete in the Allen Chevrolet Cadillac/Crown RV and Boat Cleaner 100 at Toledo Speedway Friday, August 14, will also sign autographs at the Glass City oval. Busch will race in the CRA Super Series Late Model 100 lap contest on the ½ mile paved oval.
...Sonny Adams Passes.....
Thomas "Sonny" Adams, who owned and promoted races at Mt. Clemens Race Track and Toledo Speedway, died Wednesday, August 5 at 2:33 p.m. at a hospital in Florida after suffering a stroke over the weekend. He was 72 years old.
Adams, whose son Tommy Adams drives in the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series, drove in ARCA sanctioned races for John Marcum in the 1960s, sparking his interest in track ownership and promotion. Mt. Clemens Race Track operated under ARCA sanction for several years in the 1970s with Adams and Johnny May promoting the races. Adams purchased Toledo Speedway from Herb Koester in 1978 and sold the track to Ron Drager and Roy Mott in January 1999. Pictured left to right, Johnny May, John Marcum and Sonny Adams in 1973.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. in the Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114-128 Alexis Road, Toledo. Funeral services will begin Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Service in Crossroads Community Church at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in Richardson Chapel Cemetery in Lauderdale County, Alabama. Memorial donations may be given to the Toledo Humane Society or Crossroads Community Church in Ottawa Lake, MI.
...Tim Ice Returns to Toledo in MSA Portion of Open-Wheel Friday Night Show
TOLEDO, OH: (8-3-09): Former Glass City 200 winner Tim Ice leads the field of entries for the Friday evening, August 7 show at Toledo Speedway, which will play host to its final open-wheel racing show of the 2009 season. The MSA Super Modifieds and the Buckeye 305 Winged Sprint Cars will be featured in the open-wheel double header. The Western Lake Erie Insulation Industry will sponsor the night of racing at the Glass City oval. The track's weekly ARCA Speedway Tire and Auto Factory Stocks will also be in action.
...Toledo's Glass City 200 Returns to 200 Laps in 2009
TOLEDO, OH: (8-3-09): Toledo Speedway's signature event, the famed Glass City 200 Late Model invitational, set for Saturday night October 3, will return to 200 laps for this season. The race was reduced to 150 laps in 2008. The 21st running of the prestigious race is expected to draw the top outlaw Late Model drivers from Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Canada.

1980-BOB SENNEKER SCORES 100-LAP FEATURE
Toledo Speedway held its first extra-distance affair of the season and it was the "Bluebird" Bob Senneker taking the twin 50-lap features in his signature late model #84. Senneker, a frequent Toledo Speedway visitor, has tasted success consistently at Toledo as well as in major high-dollar payout late model races throughout the Midwest US and Canada.
