Flat Rock Street Stock Champ Stocker Passes
Long time Flat Rock Speedway ARCA Street Stock driver Jim Stocker passed away Wednesday, March 3. Stocker faithfully made the long tow from his home in Clarkston to race weekly at Flat Rock for some 20 years, resulting in two ARCA Street Stock B Main championships and many B Main feature wins at the wheel of his car #46. Stocker had recently been diagnosed with cancer and suffered a fatal heart attack. Per his wishes, there will be no memorial and cremation has taken place.
...Condolences to the Family of Steve Bunge
Condolences to the family of Steve Bunge on the death of his mother, Carol Bunge. Steve Bunge raced in the ARCA Late Model division for over 30 years at Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways and is a 3-time champion in the division at Flat Rock. He also operates the B&H Race Parts trailer at both tracks, as well as participating as an ARCA Racing Series official. Visitation for Carol Bunge is from noon to 8 p.m. Monday March 8 at Rupp Funeral Home in Monroe Michigan, with funeral services at 9 a.m. Tuesday March 9 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Ida Michigan.

Jim Forsythe, a crewman for ARCA Figure 8 driver Dennis Whisman for 17 years, passed away Tuesday, March 2 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Visitation is at the Bobcean Funeral Home in Flat Rock, MI Friday, March 5, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Colin "Butch" Giles Passes
Colin "Butch" Giles, long time sponsor and car owner at Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway, passed away February 20 after a brief illness. For decades, Giles promoted his Giles Auto Body auto collision repair business by sponsoring race teams, race events and special awards to racers at Flat Rock and Toledo. On what would be his final day at the track in October 2009, Giles enjoyed possibly his most successful day at the track at Toledo Speedway's Glass City 200 when Dave Kuhlman won in a Giles Auto Body sponsored car and Ron Allen finished 2nd in a car owned and sponsored by Giles. Giles, 67, made his home in Livonia. He is survived by his sons Henry and Jeff.

Hugh Fair Passes......
Hugh J. Fair, 84, who raced in the ARCA Late Model division at Toledo and Flat Rock Speedways, and whose son Harold Fair and grandson Harold Fair Jr. are ARCA Late Model drivers at both tracks, died Tuesday Feb. 16.
Hugh Fair was the 1961 Modified Champion at Flat Rock Speedway and drove the #104 ARCA Late Model through the 1960s with top-15 points finishes in 1962, 1963, 1967 and 1969, when he finished 7th.
