Heritage Church of God is currently having their children's Vacation Bible School and have invited Flatrock and Toledo race teams to bring their cars to Heritage Church of God at 3520 Strayer Road, in Maumee, Ohio on Thursday, July 30, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. Chaplain Jerry Stewart and Bonnie will be there doing a small presentation.  The Vacation Bible School has a racing theme and about 75-80 kids will be there. Teams are asked to bring their cars to the church between 5 and 6 pm. Please bring pictures to hand out. Please call Chaplain Jerry Stewart at 734-770-5270 if you are able to attend so a car count can be forwarded to the church. Vacation Bible School events are always a fun filled event and great for track and sponsor publicity. 1980-JUNIOR HANLEY SWEEPS TOLEDO CLEAN

Canadian ace Junior Hanley continued his dominance of late model racing at Toledo Speedway, taking the 50-lap mid season championship race over Chuck Roumell, Dave Simko, Don Mallott and Ed Cooper. Hanley, in doing so, also set a new track record (14:21.88), eclipsing the previous record set by Joy Fair (14:44.11) in 1976. Hanley also captured the dash and fast heat, while the Carolina Flash Royce Cornett took the other heat.

TOLEDO, OH: (8-7-09): Trent Stephens, Zach Gibson, Landon Schuster and John Rabideau were the winners on Western Lake Erie Insulation Industry Night Friday at Toledo Speedway. Threatening weather stalled the show for a period of time, but track personnel and the race teams worked together to complete the racing card. ...

Condolences to Flat Rock Speedway ARCA Street Stock driver Terry Humphrey and family on the death of his wife, Sheryl Ann. Sheryl Humphrey had battled cancer and died August 9 at the age of 52.

TOLEDO, Ohio (August 14, 2009)--Kyle Busch took a break from testing his CRA Late Model on Thursday to speak with members of the local media on everything from short track racing to points racing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Selected quotes from his interview are posted here. Busch will return to Toledo Speedway's half-mile paved oval for Friday night's CRA 100 lap Late Model Feature. Tickets are available at Toledo Speedway beginning at 3 p.m. and cost $20. ...

TOLEDO, OH: (8-19-09): Glass Bowl Lanes will host Autograph Night this Friday, August 21 at Toledo Speedway. The 4 division of race cars will be parked on the track and race fans will be permitted to walk onto the racing surface to meet the drivers! The All Sport Season Championships are set for Friday, August 28.

1960-DON FRIEND NO FRIEND TO TOLEDO SPEEDWAY SUPERMOD FIELD

Don Friend of Detroit, a newcomer to competition at the Toledo Speedway, quickly adapted to the new ½ mile high banked oval, taking the 20-lap supermodified main event. In doing so, Friend stopped the 4-race win streak of current point leader Al Beale of Toledo. Friend, at the wheel of a Cadillac-powered modified sprint, started last in 14^th position, but moved quickly to the front to take the lead on lap 4. He went on to win by a healthy margin over Beale, Benny Rapp, Beanie Treen and Johnny Price. Rollie Beale led the 30 total cars in qualifying with a lap of 21.30 seconds. Rollie captured his heat and the Australian pursuit over his brother Al, but Al was not to be shut out as he won the 4-car dash.

TOLEDO, OH: (8-29-09): Heavy morning rains, followed by showers in the afternoon and the forecast for more of the same put the stop to Toledo Speedway's All Sport Season Championship race for the ARCA Sportsman, Factory Stocks and Figure 8's Friday evening. The event will not be rescheduled.

FLAT ROCK, MI: (8-29-09): Stan Yee Jr., Greg Studt, Regan Ford, Troy Brehmer and Brad Turner steered to victories on Glass Unlimited Night at Flat Rock Speedway. Walter Krause of Glass Unlimited presented the trophies and bonus money to the winners in post-race festivities on a very unseasonably cool August evening.

1980-SENNEKER AND MALCUIT GRAB TOLEDO BIG BUCKS

Perennial favorite Bob Senneker and "Captain Sizzle" Mark Malcuit each posted $5000 victories by taking the 150-lap segments of the season-ending Gabriel 300 at Toledo Speedway. Track promoter Sonny Adams greeted the joyous winners on-track, paying each driver in fresh $100 bills in front of the huge, enthusiastic crowd on a beautiful fall Sunday afternoon.

TOLEDO, OH: (9-17-09): 2006 race winner Jack Landis and Mt. Morris, MI driver Johnny Belott are the lastest entries for the 21st running of the Glass City 200 Late Model invitational presented by AP Motorsports, set for Saturday, October 3 at Toledo Speedway. TOLEDO, OH: (9-25-09): Track officials have announced that the ARCA Speedway Tire and Auto Factory Stock class will be added to the Glass City 200 weekend presented by AP Motorsports. The addition of the division for the Saturday, October 3 event will see practice, qualifying and feature races for the group, with all their action on the ¼ mile paved oval.

WHITE LAKE, Michigan (October 16, 2009)--Andrew Hagen has completed his first full season of oval racing in the USA with Brad Keselowski Racing. Hagen competed in seven Super Late Model events throughout Michigan and Ohio on half-mile ovals. This year was an opportunity for Hagen to get accustomed to oval racing after leaving his road racing background and setting his sights on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. ...

TOLEDO, OHIO (November 19, 2009)--Toledo Speedway will open its 2010 racing season with a Late Model doubleheader Saturday, April 17, featuring the ASA North Late Models and the ARCA Gold Cup Late Models. Robert "Woody" Woodworth, age 65 of White Lake, MI passed away November 29, 2009.  Robert drove the #76 "Orange Moose" Street Stock in the 1970's.  He is survived by his wife Sharon, children Michael and Michele, father Wesley and brothers Terry Carl and Dan "Dusty" Rhodes.  Services were held yesterday.  Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.  Condolences can reach the family at http://www.lynchfamily/ FUNERALDirectors.com.
