Toledo Speedway

On behalf of everyone at the tracks, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! The new schedules will be released yet this week-check the websites. There are a few changes, but we're still sorting things out and trying to make everything fit. It all looks good in December! As we did in 2009, we simply need to work together and continue to provide the great entertainment value through these tough times. May you and your families enjoy the holiday season and be blessed with employment, health and prosperity!

This is the first of our winter bulletins.  All bulletins are posted on the site...no direct mail.  January issue will be posted around the 15^th.  Flat Rock office is closed; Toledo phone number is 419-727-1100.  Please direct all calls to Toledo.  Please share this bulletin with those who do not use the computer!

NEW ARCA ADDRESS:  P.O. Box 380, Temperance, MI  48182.

RULES:  Changes were sent out before banquet.  As mentioned in all classes, we will clamp down on the muffler/noise issue.....NO exceptions.  Changes are up on the website!

Sportsman:  We will gather information at the beginning of the season and will schedule a test session for Sportsman cars only at a later date regarding the RPM limits....please stop the rumors and work with us on this.

TAX FORMS/WINNINGS:  1099's will be sent to anyone earning $600 or more.  They are issued to the driver unless you have filed a tax form with us or made provisions.  Call the Toledo office if you need one.

TOLEDO OPENERS:  Sat. April 17, ASA North Late Model Series and ARCA Late Model Gold Cup
Series (75 laps); promoted by ASA.  Optional practice Friday, April 16 and season-opening party at Bar and Grille Friday night...more details soon!  Friday night opener is Friday, April 30.

TOLEDO pre-season practice session is Sunday, April 25, noon to 5 p.m.

FLAT ROCK OPENER:  Saturday, April 24. 

Pre-season FR practices:  Sunday, April 18, noon to 5; Wednesday, April 21, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m

LATE MODEL GOLD CUP: has 5 point races; 3 races at Toledo, 2 at Flat Rock, same at 2009.  More details soon.  First Gold Cup race is EARLY...Sat. April 17 at Toledo!  Glass City is again an invitational.

MEMBERSHIPS:  will be mailed to drivers and car owners only after February 1.  IF you need before that date, call the ARCA office (Sherry-734-847-6726) or the Toledo office and we'll get them to you.  If you need more, call the track.  2010 rule books will be sent with your membership when you join.  Cost is same as 2009.

Car Numbers:  We will try to work with everyone....we will hold your 2009 number for first 3 weeks of the season...you can call if you will be out later in the season and we will work with you.  No communication makes it very difficult...stay in touch with us on this.  IF you need a new number, call us!

Car Shows:  Nothing set up yet.  We are discussing to not hold the mall shows for 2010 and put our efforts towards yard signs, direct mail, etc...Comments are welcome....we know it eats up a lot of your time to be there, and if we are going to change, 2010 would be a good time to start....

Pad Rentals:  Will be mailed out in mid-February.  2009 renters will have right of first refusal, but must be paid by the due date or you lose your pad.  A waiting list is being compiled at Flat Rock-call us if you have not done so yet to get on the list. 

Season tickets/gift cards/ARCA wearables:  Still time to get a gift for the race fan in your life!  Are now on sale!  You can download the form off the website or call us at the office.  Gift cards are just $25 and make great Christmas Gifts, and they're good at both tracks!

RACER'S REUNION/MARFC MEETING:  Saturday, March 13.  Reunion is open to EVERYONE, the whole day is!  Great day with old photos, etc....if you raced around the area, there's probably a photo somewhere of you and your ride!  Reunion is Noon to 5, with Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club Meeting at 6:30 p.m.  Mark this date on your calendar.

ENDURO RACING:  The four (4) Enduro races at Flat Rock will again be on Saturday nights in 2010.  Enduro rules will be out in late January.  First one is Saturday, May 29.  Enduro Championship race is 300 laps!

TOLEDO SHORT-TRACK SPECIAL:  New event, set for Sat. Sept. 25.  Racer's Flea Market and Public Flea Market at Toledo will be held on the same day....planning on Legends, MCR Dwarfs, open-comp Stock cars on the short track and the road course race-yes, it's back on!  The track for this race will use turns 3-4 of the ½ mile, a portion of the ¼ mile and pit road!  More details later.

We're looking for boats for the Figure 8 Boat Races at both tracks.  We're also looking for school buses-call the track if you know of any for sale, please...The Rollover contests have been dropped for 2010.

FIGURE 8 TRAIN RACES:  Get those train cars ready!  There are seven (7) events for the Figure 8 train teams in 2010.  Same rules......
