Mike Bolick Update (1-17-09)
Long time Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway ARCA driver, car owner and sponsor Mike Bolick has been hospitalized after suffering multiple gunshot wounds in an attack Friday January 9 outside his home in Carleton, Michigan. He is currently in the intensive care unit at St. Vincent Mercy Memorial Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio, and is in critical but stable condition. Bolick, 54, is the owner of MB Windows & Doors and is the long time sponsor of ARCA Late Model driver Joe Hawes. Mike's father Reed Bolick Sr. owned ARCA late models driven by Fran Harden in the 1970s and his brothers Pat and Reed Jr. also raced. Mike Bolick's condition has been upgraded and he may be released from the hospital to return home as early as today.

...ARCA Member Floyd LaLonde Passes.....
Long time ARCA member Floyd LaLonde, who drove in the ARCA Figure-8 and Street Stock divisions at Flat Rock Speedway, passed away recently at the age of 75. Lalonde finished 3rd in ARCA Street Stock points at Flat Rock in 1978, and after retiring from driving sponsored 1981 and 1983 ARCA Street Stock champion Danny Leppen for many years through his Floyd's Muffler Shop business. TOLEDO, OH: (12-9-08): Track management at Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways have finalized their dates with the touring series of ARCA for the 2009 season. The ARCA RE/MAX Series will make 2 stops at Toledo again next year, while the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series will visit both tracks for a race event in the upcoming season.

Charles Joseph "C.J." Landry, a sports writer for The Blade who wrote about local automobile racing, died Wednesday in St. Charles Mercy Medical Center. He was 62.
