(FLAT ROCK, Michigan - September 17, 2011) - A crisp, clear and cool night greeted a large crowd for the re-scheduled Griller’s Select BBQ Sauce School Bus Figure 8 races Saturday night at Flat Rock Speedway.  The event was delayed by a week due to rain.  The fans were treated to an action-packed night of entertainment.  Billy Earley topped the School Bus race, Dan Ford Jr. won the Street Stock main event, Jeff Metdpenningen scored the 250 lap Enduro win and Brad Turner sealed the 2011 Jeff’s Collision 4 Cylinder title with his win.  Each winner received a case of bbq sauce from Griller’s Select.

(TOLEDO, Ohio - September 16, 2011) - Friday’s mail brought 8 more entries for the 23^rd running of the Great Lakes Helicopters Glass City 200, set for Saturday, October 1 at Toledo Speedway, bumping the early entry list to 19 cars.  More are expected for the prestigious event, which has over $50,000 in cash posted for the race, which includes features for the Figure 8’s, Street Stocks and Sportsman classes in addition to the 200 lap classic.

The first edition of the Great Lakes Helicopters Glass City 200 entry lists for each division are now posted! 

*A reminder to all classes-Late Models, Figure 8’s, Street Stocks and Sportsman—get your entries in now,  avoid the late fees and get your sponsor’s name up on the website!

Sportsman---any pads remaining after the Late Models will go to Sportsman cars by final point standings and IF you are pre-entered.

(TOLEDO, Ohio - September 14, 2011) - 2011 ARCA Allegiant Gold Cup champion Dennis Strickland and 1999 race winner Tim Felver lead the list of early entries for the 23^rd running of the Great Lakes Helicopters Glass City 200, set for Saturday, October 1 at Toledo Speedway.  Over $50,000 in cash has been posted for the event, which includes features for the Figure 8’s, Street Stocks and Sportsman classes in addition to the 200 lap classic.

Greg Luttman, age 50 of Dearborn, whose brothers Jerry Lee and Richie Lee are active in the ARCA Figure-8 division at Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways, died Sunday Sept. 11 after a lengthy illness. Greg is also survived by daughter Alicia Luttman, mother Cynthia Lee, brothers Larry Luttman and Terry Luttman and sister Cheryl Juliano. Visitation is Wednesday Sept. 14 from 2-4 p.m. with funeral service at 4 p.m. at the Allen Park Chapel of Voran Funeral Home, 5900 Allen Rd, Allen Park MI (313) 928-2300.

(TOLEDO, Ohio - September 13, 2011) - Robbie Loving and Jeremy Vanderhoof took part in the 2011 World Figure 8 Championship at the Speedrome in Indianapolis.  Robbie, a regular at Toledo and Flat Rock Speedways, finished 4^th in the 3 hour long feature.  Jeremy, the 2011 Champion at both Toledo and Flat Rock Speedways became the 2011 World Figure 8 SuperStock Champion with a 9^th place finish in the feature and also won a qualifying race.  Track officials would like to congratulate Robbie and Jeremy on their finishes at the World Championships.

Due to scheduling issues, the wives and mechanics races at Flat Rock Speedway have now been moved to Saturday, October 8.

The Toledo Speedway wives and mechanics races are set for Saturday, September 24.
