LEGENDS HERO CARD TO FIRST 1000 FANS THROUGH GATES SATURDAY AT FLAT ROCK

FLAT ROCK, MI: (6-24-09): The anticipation and excitement continues to build each and every day for the prestigious Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150 Saturday night, June 27 at Flat Rock Speedway. Track staff has just announced that the first 1000 fans through the front gate will receive a Legends Hero Card, picturing many of the drivers who piloted the Stan Yee #33 machines during his over 40 year career as a car builder and owner.

As of Tuesday, 25 Late Models have pre-entered for Saturday's Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150 Hantz Group/Allegiant Air Gold Cup Late Model race at Flat Rock Speedway, including defending race winner Justin Schroeder, Steve Cronenwett Jr., Dick Barker, Ricky Kargel, Eric Lee, Ron Allen, Harold Fair Jr., Dennis Strickland, Jake Francis, Stan Yee Jr. and Joe Ruttman. Maybe you were at Mt. Clemens, Flat Rock or Toledo.....and there they were...Fair, Ruttman, Byrd, Cook, Sommers, Hage....the heroes, the heavy hitters, the fan favorites. FLAT ROCK, MI: (6-20-09): Flat Rock Speedway received nearly 4 inches of rain overnight, flooding the track and parking lot. Track officials worked up until race time to get the speedway in shape for Big Red Crème Soda Night, and the fans were treated to a night filled with action! The 3 oval features were decided by a car length or less and a pair of contests on the Figure 8 track were packed with excitement and fender banging. Jeremy Miller, Tim Moore, James Rae, Shawn Bershback and the duo of Howard Kelley Jr. and Tom O'Leary III were feature winners.

Some 200 classic cars and hundreds of participants and spectators enjoyed great weather Thursday night at Toledo Speedway for the weekly Placers Car Club car show. Highlighting the evening's activities was the featured performance by Elvis impersonator Bob Rosencrantz. The Placers Car Club hosts a cruise in every Thursday, weather permitting, on the Speedway's ¼ mile track from 6-8 p.m. ...

TOLEDO, OH: (6-18-09): After a one year absence, the United States Auto Club (USAC) will return to Toledo Speedway for an open-wheel doubleheader featuring both the National Sprint Car and Midget Series. Thanks to the sponsorship of local businessman Ron Hemelgarn through his racing group and Super Fitness, Toledo will host the USAC cars Friday evening, July 3.

Legs 2 and 3 of the 5-race Hantz Group/Allegiant Air Gold Cup Series are on the slate, starting with a 75 lap contest at Toledo Speedway Friday night, June 19. 1960-AL BEALE WINS FIRST-EVER EVENT STAGED AT NEW TOLEDO SPEEDWAY

Al Beale, who with his brother Rollie form the famed Toledo racing Beale Brothers duo, captured the first-ever event at the Toledo Speedway before a good opening night crowd.

Australian Andrew Hagen has begun to make a name for himself in the short track racing world after competing successfully for Brad Keselowski Racing (BKR) in the first two Super Late Model Series events of his career. FLAT ROCK, MI: (6-13-09): A dismal-looking day ended in sunshine and a packed house for the Marco's Pizza School Bus Figure 8 races Saturday evening at Flat Rock Speedway. Jeff Kurzyniec scored the victory in the wild Bus race, Dave Arnold Jr. topped the Factory Stock feature, Chance Rice notched the win in the Michigan Legends race, Shawn Bershback was victorious in the 4 Cylinder show and Lonnie York thrilled the crowd with his win in the Rollover contest.

TOLEDO, OH: (6-12-09): Toledo Speedway's Fastest Short Track Show in the World jumped up a notch in notoriety Friday evening, as Jason Blonde steamed his way to an incredible lap of 12:744, the new all-time quickest lap at the Glass City oval. He topped Chris Perley, who earlier erased Cameron Dodson's record with a lap of 12:893. A large crowd enjoyed a great night for racing as Russ Wood topped the ISMA Super Modified portion of the event and Jeff Bloom sailed to victory in the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Super Sprint (AVSS) feature. The event, sponsored by All American Coach and Qualite Sports Lighting, lived up to its billing as drama and excitement filled the day right from the start of practice.

FLAT ROCK, MI: (6-10-09): Flat Rock Speedway officials have just announced that additional bonus money will once again be added to the purse for Flat Rock Speedway's biggest Late Model race of the season, the Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150, set for Saturday evening, June 27 at the ¼ mile paved oval. Each of dollar figures for the 24 starting positions will now end in 33, which adds money to each spot. And new for 2009, the fast qualifier will have the chance to take The Challenge, which will award a $1000 bonus if he starts last and wins the 150 lap event.

The Thursday, June 11, Classic Car Show festivities planned for Toledo Speedway, have been cancelled. The show will take place next Thursday at the regularly scheduled time.

Sunday, June 14 is the 22^nd annual "Barn" Show, held at the Wilson Barn in Livonia at the corner of Middlebelt and W. Chicago.  Music, food, a swap meet and more is all part of the weekend.

Flat Rock, MI (6-8-09)--  The name Joe Ruttman will be familiar to race fans from the late 1960's, 70's and 80's in Midwest stock car racing circles.  Ruttman was one of the top Late Model drivers, winning races at many tracks.  And now, at the invitation of Stan Yee Jr., Joe will return to drive one of the Yee Late Models for the Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150 at Flat Rock Speedway Saturday night, June 27. ...

Flat Rock, MI (6-6-09)--  Second-generation driver Billy Earley jumped behind the wheel of Rob Martel’s car after his ride encountered engine trouble, and piloted the machine to the win in the 50 lap ARCA Figure 8 feature event Saturday night at Flat Rock Speedway.  Tim Moore, James Rae and Brad Turner also scored wins on Allen Chevrolet/Cadillac Family Night/Racing Fan Club Night at the track.  Tom Allen presented trophies to the winners.

TOLEDO, OH: (6-5-09): 5-time track champion Ron Allen reversed roles with Terry Jones Friday night at Toledo Speedway, taking the lead on lap 18 on the way to victory in the 35 lap ARCA Sportsman feature on Wendy's Family Fun and Autograph Night. Robbie Loving, Eric Huston and Ramon Ortiz also visited the Glass Bowl Lanes Winner's Circle and were greeted by Wendy for the trophy presentation. ...

TOLEDO, OH: (5-28-09): Two of the top short track open-wheel shows in the Midwest will take place at Toledo Speedway in the coming weeks. Friday, June 12 is the All American Coach/Qualite Sports Lighting "Fastest Short Track Show in the World", featuring the ISMA Super Modifieds and Auto Value Super Sprints (AVSS) and Friday, July 3 is the date for the USAC doubleheader, with the Sprints and Midgets, sponsored by Hemelgarn Racing and Super Fitness. Reserved seat tickets now on sale for both events.

FLAT ROCK, MI: (6-3-09): Flat Rock Speedway's biggest Late Model race of the season, the Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150, is set for Saturday evening, June 27 at the ¼ mile paved oval. The event will pay $2500 to win and $500 to start the contest, with drivers from Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Canada expected. The track's Figure 8 and Street Stock classes will also be in competition as support divisions. ...

1990-VANDERLAAN WINNER IN ROUND 1 OF ROUMELL 900 SERIES

Toledo Speedway held the first leg of the Chuck Roumell 900 Series, thus named based on the previous year's champion. Over 30 late models entered the 100-lap season opener, making for a strong field and a competitive event.

TOLEDO, OH: (5-29-09): Amherst, Ontario Canada driver Terry Jones withstood a 20 lap battle with Ron Allen to win Friday night's Valvoline Instant Oil Change-sponsored ARCA Sportsman feature at Toledo Speedway. Landon Schuster, Mike Hammer and Matt Brazeau also posted wins in front of a good size group of kids on Scout Night. Eric Crompton of Valvoline and many of the guests of the company presented the trophies to the winners in the Glass Bowl Lanes Winners Circle. ...

Flat Rock, MI (5-30-09)-- It was Saturday night short track racing at its finest---battles for the lead, side by side, paint-swapping, fender banging action all night long. And that’s what occurred at Flat Rock Speedway for the Valvoline Instant Oil Change-sponsored night. Justin Schroeder came out ahead in a wild final 5 laps to win the Late Model event, Randy Cornett returned from a year and a half absence to hold back Randy DeMaggio for the Street Stock win, Lonnie York prevailed in a last-lap 3-wide finish in the B Main, while Jeremy Miller zipped in and out of intersection traffic to grab the Figure 8 victory in front of a large contingent of Scouts on hand for Scout Night and the Autograph Night promotion.

1970-JOHN ANDERSON EARNS HARD FOUGHT WIN

John Anderson, a graduate of the ARCA Figure-8 ranks, is experiencing a breakout season in the ARCA Late Model division. The young Anderson defeated perennial track champion Joy Fair in the 50-lap ARCA Late Model feature at the Toledo Speedway.
