Gio Ruggiero Enters CorvetteParts.net Glass City 200
Former Winchester 400 winner and current ARCA Menards Series East championship contender Gio Ruggiero has filed an entry for Saturday’s CorvetteParts.net Glass City 200 at Toledo Speedway.
Ruggiero will be driving the No. 22 Toyota out of the potent Donnie Wilson Motorsports camp. DWM won the race last year with reigning ARCA Menards Series champion and current NASCAR Xfinity Series championship contender Jesse Love at the wheel.
Ruggiero is the reigning ASA CRA Super Series champion and the ASA Southern Super Series champion. He finished third in the 2023 ASA STARS National Tour championship standings with a pair of victories; in May he scored a dramatic last-lap win over NASCAR Cup Series star William Byron at Hickory Motor Speedway and then picked up a crown jewel victory at Winchester Speedway in October.
The 18-year-old from Seekonk, Mass., won the opening round of the 2024 ARCA Menards Series East season at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Fla.
The CorvetteParts.net Glass City 200 is scheduled for Saturday, September 14 at Toledo Speedway. The day’s activities kick off with two rounds of practice at 11 am and noon, while the starting lineup will be set in Go FAS Pole Qualifying at 2:45 pm. Local racing, including the ARCA Salenbein Excavating Late Model Sportsman division and ARCA Safety Kleen Factory Stock division season championship features are set to follow, with the ASA STARS National Tour on-track autograph session after. Driver introductions will take place at 5 pm, while the green flag will fly over the 200-lap main event at 5:30 pm ET.
