USAC SILVER CROWN RACE FRIDAY NIGHT AT TOLEDO IS STILL A GO

USAC SILVER CROWN RACE FRIDAY NIGHT AT TOLEDO IS STILL A GO

Toledo, Ohio—May 3, 2018: Despite the heavy rains that hit the Toledo area last night, Toledo Speedway and USAC officials are moving forward with the Hemelgarn Racing/Super Fitness Rollie Beale Classic for the USAC Silver Crown Champ Car Series tomorrow night, Friday evening, May 4.

The forecast calls for more rain overnight, but conditions are forecasted to improve throughout Friday afternoon, hopefully setting up a great night of racing at the ½ mile paved oval.

The major challenge for the track is the condition of the pit area, which is partially flooded due to several days of heavy rainfall over the past 2 weeks. Track management is working with the City of Toledo to improve the drainage of the pit area at the speedway.

The support divisions will be Toledo’s ARCA Aramark Late Model Sportsman and the ARCA Factory Stocks. Race time is 7:30 p.m.

A variety of Vintage Race Cars will take parade laps prior to the start of the event. The track will also host its annual open-wheel Racer’s Reunion Friday night.

Practice begins at 4, time trials are at 6:15 and racing begins at 7:30 p.m.

The Hemelgarn Racing/Super Fitness Rollie Beale Classic will pay tribute to the late Rollie Beale, a Toledo native. Rollie was the 1973 USAC Sprint Car champion and a former USAC Series director. Members of Rollie’s family will be in attendance Friday night.

The USAC entry list is posted at www.toledospeedway.com; go to the next race box, located on the left side of the home page.
