2 SUNDAY AFTERNOON SHOWS SET FOR MAY AT TOLEDO
Toledo, Ohio—May 9, 2016: A pair of back-to-back Sunday afternoon races make up the May racing schedule for Toledo Speedway. Sunday, May 15 Marco’s Pizza Scout Day is on the card, while Sunday, May 22 is the date for the track’s biggest event of the season-the Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menard superspeedway-style stock cars. Both races are set for 2 p.m. starts.
The track will host an open practice session Wednesday, May 11 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The pit gates will open at 4 p.m.
All scouts (boys and girls) in uniform and leaders in uniform or with and ID card will be admitted FREE to the May 15 show.
Sunday, May 15 will feature two divisions on the ½ mile paved oval, and the return of the ARCA Victory Lane Oil Change Figure 8’s on the Figure 8 track. The ARCA Aramark Late Model Sportsman drivers hit the speedway for the first time this year for the R & M Recycling “Silver Cup” 50 lap feature race. A 3-race series for the division will take place this season, with the May 15 event the first of the year.
The other ½ mile division for the Sunday, May 15 Marco’s Pizza Scout Day will be the open-wheel Modifieds. Sandusky, OH Speedway will administer this portion of the event and the group will follow Sandusky rules. Several of the Sandusky weekly Modified teams are expected, and several cars from around Michigan, Ohio and Indiana are also expected to compete. For details, please call 440-213-7003. Practice, qualifying, heat races and a 25 lap main event will be contested.
The May 15 time schedule will have the pits opening at 9:30 a.m., practice begins at 11:30, time trials are at 1 and racing begins at 2 p.m. The front gates and ticket office opens at 11:30 a.m.
The top drivers with the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards will make the trip to Toledo for the Sunday, May 22 Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care. A full field and a large crowd is expected for the annual classic. The May 22 race will mark the 75th ARCA Racing Series event in Toledo, OH.
Saturday, May 21 is Destination Toledo Pole Day! In addition to practice and pole qualifying for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, a pair of ½ mile divisions will compete in feature races. The ARCA Truck Series and the ARCA Aramark Late Model Sportsman Series will both be in action. Saturday’s time schedule has practice beginning at 11 a.m. and racing at 3 p.m.
Tickets are now on sale for the May 22 contest and may be obtained by calling the track at 419-727-1100, at the track office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or by downloading the ticket order form and emailing it back to the track. Any ticket purchased from the track for Sunday’s event includes a Saturday race ticket.
