NEEDLES, ARMSTRONG LEAD 7-UP 200 PRACTICE SESSIONS

Toledo, Ohio—April 15, 2016: Steve Needles and Dalton Armstrong posted the fastest times for their respective classes Friday afternoon in preparation for Saturday’s 7-Up 200 Season Opener at Toledo Speedway.

Needles, at the wheel of Brian Short’s #18, topped the leader board for the ARCA Royal Truck and Trailer Gold Cup outlaw-bodied Late Models with a lap of 15:034. Ohioan Alex Rosenberry (15:298), Brent Jack (15:322), Jeff Ganus (15:341) and Harold Fair Jr. (15:350) rounded out the top 5.

Armstrong stopped the clocks with a lap of 15:522 to lead the ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by Jeg’s stock-bodied Late Models, edging out Johnny VanDoorn (15:548), 2-time defending race winner Brian Campbell (15:610), Chad Finley (15:633) and 2015 Series champ Grant Quinlan (15:656).

Saturday’s schedule has 1 hour practice sessions for both groups beginning at 10 a.m. Time trials are set for 1 p.m., with an on-track autograph session following qualifying. The first race of 2016 gets the green flag at 3 p.m.
