CAMPBELL SHOOTS FOR 3 IN A ROW IN TOLEDO OPENER;

Toledo, Ohio—March 24, 2016: 2-time defending race winner Brian Campbell leads the list of early entries for Toledo Speedway’s 7-Up 200 season opener Saturday afternoon, April 16. The ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by Jeg’s Late Model tour will make up one half of the event, with the ARCA Royal Truck and Trailer Late Model Gold Cup Series filling out the show. Each group will stage 100 lap feature events on the fast ½ mile paved oval.

Advance ticket buyers for Toledo’s first event of 2016 will be offered the Sunny Media “Good Weather Guarantee”. If the temperature is not at least 55 degrees with no rain at the scheduled 3 p.m. start time, all advance ticket purchasers will be given a free ticket to the next event on Toledo’s schedule, the USAC Silver Crown race Saturday, April 30.

To qualify for this offer, an advance ticket must be purchased prior to 5 p.m. Friday, April 15 for Saturday’s 7-Up 200. Tickets are now on sale, with a $5 discount being offered for the advance ticket sale. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of the show. Children 6-12 are $3 and under 6 are admitted free of charge. In the event of weather issues, a rain date of Sunday, April 17 at 1 p.m. has been established.

Campbell, who resides in Wyoming, MI, captured the 2014 and 2015 CRA events at Toledo for this event, which unofficially opens up the pavement Late Model short track season in the Midwest. A new car and new engine package will put Campbell’s #47 to the test for the ARCA/CRA tour.

Defending ARCA/CRA champion/Rookie of the Year Grant Quinlan of Harrison, MI, 2013-2014 Series champ Travis Braden of Wheeling W.VA and 2009, 2010 and 2012 king Johnny VanDoorn of Fruitport, MI will also be on hand for the event.

Ohio residents Jack Smith and Cody Coughlin, Michigan speedsters Chad Finley, Thomas Woodin and Chris Koslek and Indiana racers Hunter Jack, Dalton Armstrong, Wes Griffith Jr., Eddie VanMeter, Jeff Cannon and Quinnton Bear are also entered.

The ARCA Royal Truck and Trailer Late Model Gold Cup entries have just begun to arrive, with former Series and Flat Rock and Toledo champ Dennis Strickland, Toledo resident Nick Bailey and Michigan driver Frankie Jiovani the first 3 drivers to file entries for the 100 lap contest for the outlaw-bodied Late Models.

An optional Friday, April 15 practice session is set for 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 16, the race day schedule has one-hour practice sessions for each class beginning at 10 a.m. Time trials are set for 1 p.m. followed by an on-track driver autograph session. Race time for the 7-Up 200 is 3 p.m.

Toledo’s next event, and the Sunny Media “Good Weather Guarantee” make-good event, is Saturday, April 30. Hemelgarn Racing and Super Fitness present the Rollie Beale Classic, featuring a 100 lap feature for the USAC Silver Crown Cars. A non-wing Sprint Car program will serve as the support division for this event. Race time on April 30 is 6 p.m. A $5 discount for advance tickets is also being offered for the April 30 show.
