JEFF METDEPENNINGEN CAPTURES FIRST-EVER TOLEDO 250 ENDURO
Toledo, OH—June 19, 2015: Ladies Night at Toledo Speedway Friday saw Jeff Metdepenningen capture the very competitive 250 lap Enduro race, the first-ever contested at the Glass City oval. 16 year old Race Loving notched the win in the Praxair Figure 8 show, while Archie Padgett took the Road Rage race. All ladies were admitted free of charge to the event.
A total of 17 cars began the 250 lap contest, and better than half the field had never competed on Toledo’s short track. An outstanding effort by all the drivers created a great event, which finished in just under 1 hour! Jeff Metdepenningen battled with Robb Remick, Matt Ringer and Rick Bennett, with all 4 drivers taking turns leading the contest. Those 4 put on a great battle for the top spot, while the rest of the field also raced hard and clean for the most part. Jeff held on for the win over Remick, Ringger, Troy Brehmer, Derrick Sheppard, Jimmy Gullett, Jeff Braun, Jacob Thomas, Bennett and David Rumble, making up the top 10. Justin Chamberlin, Paul Martell, James Good, Jim Hensley, Jesse Carrillo, Mike Miller and Randy Padgett Jr. were next in line at the finish. Jeff also posted fast time at 11:820.
Race Loving held back the charge of his father, Robbie, to score the win in the 20 lap ARCA Praxair Figure 8 feature race. Race led every lap while he withstood early pressure from Scott Apperson. Robbie slipped under Scott for second on lap 12, while Jeremy Vanderhoof followed his path. At the stripe, Race held off his Dad for the victory. Third was Vanderhoof, Dennis Whisman was fourth and Apperson fifth, followed by Randy Roberts, David Katafiasz, Archie Padgett and Dennis Whisman Jr. Vanderhoof was the heat race winner.
The Road Rage race has the field following the pace truck—wherever it goes, they must follow, and cannot pass! When the lights go out on the truck, the next flag is the checkered! Archie Padgett out-gunned Scott Apperson for the win. Dennis Whisman, Travis Earley, Dennis Whisman Jr. and Paul Martell followed.
