COULD RECORDS FALL AT TOLEDO FRIDAY???
COULD RECORDS FALL AT TOLEDO FRIDAY???
(Toledo, Ohio - June 12, 2014) - With a favorable forecast for Friday’s All American Coach/Hemelgarn Racing/Super Fitness “Fastest Short Track Show in the World” at Toledo Speedway, the odds could be leaning to the side of a new track record!
The MSA Winged Super Modifieds and the winged Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints (AVBBSS) are ready for their annual event at the high-banked, ½ mile paved oval in the Glass City.
Arriving early to see practice and perhaps the most exciting qualifying session at a short track in the nation is a must! In the 2011 time trials, an incredible lap of 12:389 was set by Sprint driver Charlie Schultz. Cody Gallogly came up just short in his bid for a new mark in the 2013 edition of qualifying, clocking in at 12:591. The Super Modified record is 12:893, set by Chris Perley of Maine in 2009. Mike Lichty flirted with the record in 2013, just missing a new mark with his lap of 12:940 last season.
Defending race winners for the All American Coach/Hemelgarn Racing/Super Fitness Fastest Short Track Show in the World are hometown star Jimmy McCune in the MSA Super Modifieds and Troy DeCaire for the AVBBSS Sprints.
Race fans can save $5 per ticket by purchasing their tickets prior to Thursday, June 12 at 5 p.m.. They are available at the track office or by phone. The track will offer both reserved seating (with backrests) and general admission tickets for the advance sale. Major credit cards are accepted for phone orders and on race day. To obtain advance tickets, please call the track office at 419-727-1100 or the ticket order form may be downloaded from the track’s webpage.
The pit area will open at 2, practice begins at 3:30 and the front gates will also open at 3:30. The much-anticipated time trials hit the track at 5:30 and racing begins at 7:30 p.m.
