FASTEST SHORT TRACK SHOW IN THE WORLD AT TOLEDO JUNE 13

FASTEST SHORT TRACK SHOW IN THE WORLD AT TOLEDO JUNE 13

Toledo, Ohio—June 10, 2014: It’s here!! It’s the All American Coach/Hemelgarn Racing/Super Fitness “Fastest Short Track Show in the World” at Toledo Speedway, starring the MSA Winged Super Modifieds and the winged Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints (AVBBSS) Friday, June 13.

And the question is the same each and every year of this event since its creation by Toledo track management in 2001----can they go faster?? Can they break the track record??

Part of the aura of this event, the draw for fans is the qualifying session! Drivers hit the track and in some cases, don’t crack the throttle as they aim for notoriety at one of the most renowned pavement open wheel races in the country!

Can someone top the amazing, incredible one lap record of 12:389 set by Sprint driver Charlie Schultz in 2011? Cody Gallogly came up just short in his bid for a new mark in the 2013 edition of qualifying, clocking in at 12:591. Can a new mark be set for the Super Modifieds? The record stands at 12:893, set by Chris Perley of Maine in 2009. Mike Lichty flirted with the record in 2013, just missing a new mark with his lap of 12:940 last season.

Toledo’s lightning-fast ½ mile paved oval appears to have “weathered” the very rough winter in fine fashion! The track has been very quick for the stock cars thus far in 2014, and all indications are that everything is in prime shape for a driver to click off that record lap during qualilfying!

Defending race winners for the All American Coach/Hemelgarn Racing/Super Fitness Fastest Short Track Show in the World are hometown star Jimmy McCune in the MSA Super Modifieds and Troy DeCaire for the AVBBSS Sprints.

The speedway will stage a pre-race ticket sale for the June 13 contest.   Race fans can save $5 per ticket by purchasing their tickets prior to race day. The track will offer both reserved seating (with backrests) and general admission tickets for the advance sale. Major credit cards are accepted for phone orders and on race day.
