JACK, BENSON LATEST ENTRIES FOR FRIDAY’S TOLEDO DISCOUNT TIRE 100
(TOLEDO, OH—June 4, 2014): Add Butler, IN driver Brent Jack and Newport, MI wheelman Chris Benson to the list for leg number 2 of the Discount Tire ARCA Gold Cup Late Model Series at Toledo Speedway Friday night, June 6. The Discount Tire 100 is the first of 3 Late Model Gold Cup races at the track for the 2014 season.
Jack is a former Angola, IN Motor Speedway champion, and has been extremely fast at Toledo in the past several seasons. Brent has 4 feature wins to his credit at the Glass City oval at the wheel of his number #41 machine, 2 of which were Gold Cup events. Flat Rock Speedway regular Chris Benson brings his #51 to Toledo for Friday night’s 100 lap contest. Benson has been a competitor at Toledo on occasion during his career.
In a couple of car number changes, Steve Needles will carry his familiar #14, while Brian Ross will be #16 as the Blount Motorsports drivers get ready for Friday night. Ron Allen has withdrawn from the event.
Race fans will see two divisions in competition on the ½ mile Friday night, as the ARCA Aramark Sportsman will battle in a 35 lap main event. The Great Lakes Mini Cup Cars will make the trip to Toledo and will compete on the ¼ mile oval Friday night.
The pit area opens at 1:30 p.m., practice begins at 4, time trials are at 6 and racing begins at 7:30 p.m. The front gates will open at 4. All tickets go on sale at 4 p.m. race day at the speedway.
