10-time Toledo winner Scott Hantz enters 7-UP 150
(TOLEDO, Ohio – April 9, 2014) – One of the most successful late model drivers at Toledo Speedway in recent memory has added his name to the list drivers entered in the April 12 7UP 150 at Toledo Speedway. Scott Hantz will bring his late model machine from northern Indiana to take part in the second annual Border Wars race.
Hantz has 10 late model wins at Toledo Speedway and is the defending ARCA Gold Cup Late Model Series champion.
He is a three-time ARCA/CRA Super Series champion – having won the series title in 2000, 2006 and 2008. He is the all-time leader in wins (31), poles/fast qualifier (18), laps led (3,965), laps completed (27,744), top-five finishes (116) and top-10 finishes (148).
The 7UP 150 is the first race of the season for both the ARCA/CRA Super Series and ARCA Midwest Tour and the entry list includes cars from both.
Drivers from 11 states—Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, West Virginia and Wisconsin—and Canada have filed entries for the 150-lap event.
The annual 7UP 150 will kick off Friday, April 11 with an open practice from 3:00 p.m. to 7. Pits will open at 11:00 with hauler parking and tech following at 1. At 7:30, there will be a dinner at the Toledo Speedway Bar/Grille for all pit pass purchasers. Additional dinners will be available for $10 per plate.
Pit Gates open Saturday, April 12 at 8 a.m. with practice from 10 to 11:30. Qualifying will begin at 1. The race program begins at 3 with a 15-lap last chance race, followed by an on-track autograph session. The 7UP 150 will follow, featuring 150 laps of green flag racing with a 10 minute break at lap 76 for teams to add fuel and make adjustments.
