Toledo Speedway

(TOLEDO, Ohio - August 14, 2012) - 2-time ARCA/CRA Super Series champion and current Series point leader Johnny VanDoorn has entered the Miller Lite 100 for this Friday night, August 17 at Toledo Speedway.  The 100 lap feature for the outlaw-bodied Late Models teams the ARCA Allegiant Gold Cup and the Main Event Racing Series together for the first time. 

While VanDoorn has had a great deal of success in the stock-bodied ARCA/CRA Super Series, the Coopersville, MI resident in no stranger to outlaw Late Model racing.  Johnny has several wins to his credit around the Midwest, including a win at Toledo several seasons ago.  VanDoorn’s championships with the ARCA/CRA cars came in the 2009 and 2010 seasons, and he has a comfortable lead in the 2012 Series point race as VanDoorn goes for his 3^rd title in 4 seasons.  Johnny finished second at Toledo in the April ARCA/CRA race.

Additional entries have been filed by second-generation driver Marcus Malcuit, Main Event Series regulars John Strobel, John Flynn and Scott Drake and former Toledo Late Model and Sportsman champ Ron Allen.

Several drivers have competed in both series during the 2012 season.  The Miller Lite 100 will award $2500 to the winner and $500 is posted to start the 100 lap feature race.  Despite 4 cars withdrawing from the event, the entry list still stands at 30 cars as of Tuesday at Noon. 

The top 3 in the final ARCA Allegiant Series points will receive 2 round trip airline tickets, courtesy of Allegiant Travel.  The champion will also receive a test in an ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards stock car at the annual ARCA test in December at Daytona International Speedway, courtesy of Fast Track Driving School and Andy Hillenburg.

Toledo’s ARCA R & M Recycling Street Stocks and the ARCA 4 Cylinders will also be in action for the Miller Lite 100 Night of racing.  Big Wheel races will take place at 7 p.m. for the kids Friday night.

Northwest Ohio Beverage, the Toledo-area distributor of Miller Lite, will be on hand with several giveaway items for the fans in attendance this Friday night.

The pit area will open at 2 p.m., practice begins at 4:30, time trials are at 6:15 and racing begins at 7:30 p.m.
