MILLER LITE 100 ENTRIES ARRIVING FOR TOLEDO ARCA ALLEGIANT GOLD CUP/MAIN EVENT SERIES AT TOLEDO
(TOLEDO, Ohio - August 7, 2012) - A total of 24 cars are already entered for the Friday, August 17 Miller Lite 100 at Toledo Speedway. The ARCA Allegiant Gold Cup and the Main Event Racing Series are joining forces for this event, the first time the 2 outlaw Late Model groups have co-sanctioned a race.
Main Event current point leader Bud Perry leads the list of entries for the Toledo event, while ARCA Allegiant Gold Cup leader Dakota Carlson will be looking to clinch his first-ever crown on that tour. For the Main Event Cars, the Toledo race will be leg number 9 of 12 events, while the Gold Cup Toledo date is the 6th and final event for the group.
The 2 groups have been working together this season with the basic Late Model Alliance body measurement package in effect. Toledo’s tire rule, the F45 left side Hoosier Racing Tire, and the F56 right side Hoosier Racing Tire has been selected as the tires for this event. Drivers will receive points for both series per each series rules.
Several drivers have competed in both series during the 2012 season. A field of 25-30 cars is expected for the Toledo race, which pays $2500 to win and $500 to start the 100 lap feature race.
The Miller Lite 100 will also serve as the Late Model division’s final tune-up for the 24th running of the Great Lakes Helicopter Glass City 200, set for Saturday, September 29.
The top 3 in the final ARCA Allegiant Series points will receive 2 round trip airline tickets, courtesy of Allegiant Travel. The champion will also receive a test in an ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards stock car at the annual ARCA test in December at Daytona International Speedway, courtesy of Fast Track Driving School and Andy Hillenburg.
Terry Senneker (Toledo), Mike Luberda Jr.(Spartan, MI Speedway), Harold Fair Jr.(Flat Rock and Toledo) and Root (Flat Rock) have claimed ARCA Allegiant Gold Cup wins.
2012 race winners on the Main Event Series include Justin Schroeder (Sandusky), Perry (Columbus), Fair (Shady Bowl), Rich Rohrer (Midvale), Don Harvey (Barberton), Root (Dixie, MI Speedway) and Scott Baker (Sandusky).
Toledo’s ARCA R & M Recycling Street Stocks and the ARCA 4 Cylinders will also be in action for the Miller Lite 100 Night of racing.
The pit area will open at 2 p.m., practice begins at 4:30, time trials are at 6:30 and racing begins at 7:30 p.m.
