KELLEY JR.-LOVING-TURNBULL-WELLS TOPS AT TOLEDO

(TOLEDO, Ohio - August 3, 2012) - A good crowd filed into Toledo Speedway Friday evening for the re-scheduled Teamsters Local 20 Kids Night.  Jeff’s Collision of Toledo joined the group as the night sponsor for the 4-division race card.  Howard Kelley Jr., Robbie Loving, John Turnbull Jr. and Jeff Wells Jr. were the feature winners on a very warm and humid evening. Rose Wells and her granddaughters, representing Jeff's Collision, presented the trophies in the Sun Drop Winner's Circle.

All kids 14 and under were admitted free and received a free hot dog, chips and a drink, courtesy of Sherwood Foods, Dr. Pepper/Snapple Group and Herr’s Potato Chips.

A great run for the lead thrilled the fans as Howard Kelley Jr. held off an intense run by Mike Young and Jim Froling to win the 35 lap ARCA ACME Dismantling Sportsman feature contest.  Kelley Jr. jumped into the lead at the start with Jim Froling glued to his bumper.  Through a pair of yellows and a red flag on lap 16 when Jeff Myers Jr. and Kent McCloskey got together in turn 2, Kelley stayed in command, but the pressure remained.  Young made a move and got by Froling to take over 2nd and took several shots at grabbing the lead, with Kelley in front, Young high and Froling looking for someplace to go.  The lead trio, with Ron Allen tucked tightly into fourth, headed to the white flag.  Young charged up strong on the outside, Kelley slid up just a bit, Froling dipped low and those three nearly came across the stripe side by side as Kelley held off Young, Froling and Allen for the big victory in a thrilling finish.  Dave Arnold Jr. was just a car length back in 5th, followed  by Norm Lewallen, Kenny McKay Jr., Andy Harding, Kevin Stahl Jr. and Dan Grigsby.  Allen set fast time for the 17 car field at 17:299.  Heat wins went to Froling and Craig Osenbaugh.

figure_8_8-3.jpgIt was all Robbie Loving as he sailed to victory in the 20 lap ARCA Parts Galore Figure 8 feature contest.  Loving jumped into the lead at the green and built up a comfortable margin as he zipped to the victory over Gary Cronenwett, Dennis Whisman, Greg Studt, Jeremy Vanderhoof, Allen Bland Jr., Sam Hall, Archie Padgett, Chuck Pankow, Ian Jezylo and Dan Apperson.  Studt and Vanderhoof captured the heat race wins.
