Ansell ActivArmr Gloves Contribute to Completion of New Grandstand Construction at Toledo Speedway

(TOLEDO, Ohio - May 17, 2012) - The home track of the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, Toledo Speedway, will boast its new facelift for this weekend's Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care - with significant help from series partners Ansell and Menards.

In ARCA's 60th Anniversary Season, the series' home track has been updated with two new grandstand sections, solidifying the tracks as one of the circuit's fan favorites. After last year's thrilling finish to the 2011 season at Toledo Speedway, construction crews went to work transforming the look of the frontstretch.

The project began in October, following the ARCA Racing Series finale, andansellglovestolgs1.jpg was recently finished in time for this weekend's 200-lap event, the fifth race of the season. Official ARCA Racing Series partners Ansell and Menards lent a hand to the local construction workers by offering Carpenter gloves from the Ansell ActivArmr line and building materials from nearby Menards locations. Three Menards locations currently stand in Toledo, with three others in nearby Sandusky, Findlay, and Defiance.

When working with wood, nails, metal, and power tools, the breathable second skin dexterity of the patented Ansell Carpenter glove provides advanced protection, superior grip, and all-day wear comfort. Contributing to the performance of the Ansell ActivArmr Carpenter glove is the Dyneema knit for protection, a slip wrist design for comfort, and a polyurethane coating.

Each member of the construction crew received two pairs of the gloves, andansellglovestolgs2.jpg some of those workers were invited to sample another offering from the ActivArmr line, the HVAC glove.

By offering gloves and building materials, Ansell and Menards have solidifed their commitment to the ARCA Racing Series, as well as to one of the most recognizable tracks on the circuit. In all, the Toledo Speedway grandstand project consists of 3600 new seats over two structures. The first was christened on April 29 as the ARCA CRA Super Series and ARCA Allegiant Gold Cup Series opened Toledo Speedway's season, and the second will open to fans for Sunday's Menards 200. Each has definite influence from Ansell and Menards.

Toledo Speedway's grandstand renovation is sure to provide fans a great view of the action that has competitors excited for the Menards 200. Nine-time ARCA Racing Series champion and nine-time Toledo winner Frank Kimmel, driver of the No. 44 Ansell/Menards Camry, is one of the favorites looking forward to the series' return to Toledo.

"It's probably the best short track that we go to," he said. "Year in and year out, it's been a good racetrack for us. It's a fun racetrack to race on. Toledo is big enough to be fast and exciting, but small enough where aerodynamics and horsepower aren't really a big deal. Toledo is just a real cool place to get to race at."

Fans can meet Kimmel at Menards locations near Toledo Speedway activarmrmenardscombo.jpgon Friday. Kimmel will sign autographs at the Menards location in Oregon, Ohio from 4-5:30 pm, and at the Holland, Ohio store from 6:30-8. Tickets are still available for the Menards 200 on Sunday afternoon. ARCARacing.com will feature live timing and scoring for all of the weekend's action, including Sunday's race at 2 p.m. ET. SPEED will broadcast the Menards 200 at 5 p.m. ET.
