FLAT ROCK, TOLEDO PRACTICES BUSY; SEASON OPENERS NEXT WEEKEND

(FLAT ROCK, MI and TOLEDO, OH - April 22, 2012) - Dry weather and partly sunny skies kept action on the track very busy at practice day Saturday at Flat Rock Speedway and Sunday at Toledo Speedway.
62 cars were on the grounds Saturday at Flat Rock’s ¼ mile paved oval and Figure 8 track. A variety of race cars—ARCA Moran Chevrolet Late Models, Parts Galore Figure 8’s, DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks, 4 Cylinders, Enduro cars and an open-wheel Modified used up all 5 hours of practice time.
Sunday afternoon, Toledo’s big ½ mile paved oval and the ¼ mile oval both saw action. On the 1/4 mile, ARCA R & M Recycling Street Stocks and 4 Cylinders took practice laps, while the ½ mile was busy with a pair of ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards cars, including ARCA Daytona winner Bobby Gerhart of Lebanon, PA. ARCA Late Models, a fine field of ARCA ACME Dismantling Sportsman cars and several ARCA Truck Series machines, along with an open-wheel Midget made up the 42 race cars on hand.
Saturday, April 28 Flat Rock Speedway roars into action with a new event, featuring the ARCA Parts Galore Figure 8’s, DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks, ARCA 4 Cylinders and a 250 lap Enduro event. Racing begins at 7 p.m.
Sunday, April 29 marks the start of Toledo Speedway’s 2012 schedule, with the 7-Up Twin 100’s on tap. Two-100 lap features for 2 different types of Late Models will hit the ½ mile, high-banked paved oval. The ARCA Allegiant Gold Cup outlaw-style body Late Models and the ARCA/CRA Super Series stock-bodied Late Models will both be in competition in separate 100 lap events.
Toledo will host a practice day Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. A section of Toledo’s new grandstand system will be ready April 29 opening event. The front gates open at 11 a.m., time trials are at 12:30 and race time on Sunday is 2 p.m.
