Flat Rock Autograph Alley Takes Shape; TV Pavilion Moving Forward

(FLAT ROCK, Michigan - April 19, 2012) - Work continues at Flat Rock Speedway to prepare for the 2012 racing season. The new-concept Autograph Alley is nearly complete, as is the Pavilion under the grandstands. Opening Night is Saturday, April 28.
Autograph Alley is located just to the north of the main grandstands. Vinyl fencing is in place, in addition to a paved driveway that leads from the tech barn to the location. Winners will take their car to Autograph Alley for family photo sessions and also to meet with the fans! A backdrop sign is in production and should be in place in the next 2 weeks.
Jack and
Linda’s Bier Garten is close to being a reality! Located next to the Flat Rock Level Pebble
Saloon, a roof has been constructed where picnic tables and benches will be in
place. A flat screen TV will show the
action on the track LIVE. After the
conclusion of the racing program, a tape of the evening’s races will be shown
to fans and racers alike.
“We are very pleased with the progress of these 2 projects,” noted Casey Wagner, Assistant General Manager. “We have also been able to complete some work on the track, such as raising a drain crock and doing some patch work,” added Wagner. Touch-up painting, cleaning and some concrete work under the grandstands has also been accomplished, thanks to the early spring weather.
Practice day is Saturday, April 21 from Noon to 5. Opening Day is set for Saturday, April 28 with the ARCA Parts Galore Figure 8’s, DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks and the ARCA 4 Cylinders in action. New to opening night will be a 250 lap Enduro race. (The Moran Chevrolet Late Models will make their first appearance May 5). The gates open at 5 and racing begins at 7 p.m.
