Flat Rock, Toledo Race Teams Out And About As Season Nears

(TOLEDO, Ohio - April 6, 2012) - Several Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway race teams were busy in the past weeks, taking part in car shows and actually hitting the track for some racing prior to the start of the season at the 2 tracks.
ARCA ACME Dismantling Sportsman driver Greg Stilwell displayed his car at the annual Bowling Green, OH car show in mid-March. The Sportsman division’s first event at Toledo is Friday, May 4.
ARCA Parts Galore Figure 8 drivers Jeremy Vanderhoof and Robbie Loving made the trip to Anderson, IN Speedway Saturday, March 31 for an outlaw-Figure 8 race, featuring the Indy-style Figure 8 machines. Both drivers, former champions at both Flat Rock and Toledo, had great runs, with Jeremy grabbing second spot and Robbie right behind in third place.
Thursday evening, April 5, several race teams took part in the annual Welding Show held at Owens Community College in Toledo. Sportsman drivers Norm Lewallen, Landon Schuster, Mike Young, Dave Arnold Jr. and Stilwell, ARCA 4 Cylinder driver Jeff Wells all took part in the event.
Opening weekend is just 3 weeks away! Saturday, April 28 Flat Rock Speedway roars into action with a new event, featuring the ARCA Parts Galore Figure 8’s, DTS Drive Train Specialists, ARCA 4 Cylinders and a 250 lap Enduro event. Racing begins at 7 p.m.
Sunday, April 29 marks the start of Toledo Speedway’s 2012 schedule, with the 7-Up Twin 100’s on tap. Two-100 lap features for 2 different types of Late Models will hit the ½ mile, high-banked paved oval. The ARCA Allegiant Gold Cup outlaw-style body Late Models and the ARCA/CRA Super Series stock-bodied Late Models will both be in competition in separate 100 lap events.
Toledo’s new grandstand system should be partially ready April 29. Race time on Sunday is 2 p.m.
