2012 FLAT ROCK-TOLEDO RULE CHANGES

The 2012 rule changes for short track divisions that compete at Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways follows.  The sheet has been mailed to the driver/owner membership.

Figure 8's:  The option to run a different oil pan was left out in the crate engine rule option that was mailed out.  It has been included below:

2012 FLAT ROCK-TOLEDO SPEEDWAY RULE CHANGES  (as of 11-1-11) 

***A reminder to all classes:  Beginning with 2013 season, helmet dates will change to Snell 2005 or newer.

 ***For all Classes:  (This is the 7-25-11 amendment that was sent out):  Tires found to not be in compliance with ARCA rulebook and established inspection procedures (durometer reading, tire origin/purchase location barcode, etc.) will be confiscated and will subject team to penalty up to and including loss of qualifying and/or race finish position, disqualification, loss of points and/or prize money and suspension.  ALL tires must be purchased from ARCA and be included in the barcode inventory system. 

ARCA 4 CYLINDERS:  NO CHANGES 

ARCA FIGURE 8 DIVISION

Page 51, #2:  ENGINE:  The GM crate engine, part #88958602, with an ARCA approved 2 barrel carburetor is now legal.  Crate engine must maintain stock manufacturers specifications, with the exception of the oil pan.  The stock oil pan may be replaced by a road course course oil pan.

ARCA LATE MODEL DIVISION

Page 45, A:  SPOILER:  (bulletin from 4-14-11; was left out of 2011 rulebook; this is not a change):  Spoiler and right rear quarter panel cannot be closer than 3 inches to outside of right rear tire.  Spoiler cannot extend past edge of body. 

Page 45, #2:  (POINT OF EMPHASIS):  Air cleaner must be covered by hood entirely. 

Page 46, 3B:  (POINT OF EMPHASIS and addition):  IGNITION:  Box must be mounted out of reach of driver, towards right side of car.  All wiring must be exposed, be in plain view and plug end to have GM Weatherpack connectors. 

ARCA STREET STOCK DIVISION

Page 56, 1:  Delete:  1970 or newer. 

Page 56, 2:  ENGINE:  Delete:  No GT 40 Performance heads (they are now permitted). 

Page 57, 10:  SUSPENSION:  Delete:  No K type bars allowed (they are now permitted). 

Page 57, 12:  REAR END:  Delete:  Ford disc brake rear housing assembly highly recommended. 

Page 58, 13A:  STRUCTURE:  Add:  Opera windows now permitted. 

Page 60, 25:  (rewrite, additions):  1-way scanners are mandatory, to be approved with ARCA-approved frequency only.  Cars and drivers will not be permitted to carry onboard computers, recording devices, processors, microcontrollers, electronic memory chips, traction control devices or digital readout gauges, including tachometers.  No remote recall tachometers. (Penalty wording listed remains same). 

**A reminder that the Factory Stocks may run the 2012 season at Toledo as a Street Stock, following Factory Stock rules.  For 2013, cars will run under Street Stock rules.  The 5-4-11 bulletin will be added under Factory Stock portion of 2012 book:  Maximum of 55% left side weight ratio.

ARCA SPORTSMAN DIVISION

Page 62, #1:  Delete:  1980 or newer. 

Page 62, E:  (POINT OF EMPHASIS):  Ignition boxes must be mounted on passenger side of dash board, out of reach of driver, and accessible to inspector from passenger window.  All wiring must be exposed, in plain view and plug end to have GM Weatherpack connectors. 

Page 63, 8:  STRUCTURE:  (1-6-11 bulletin-will be added to 2012 book):  Rear spoiler to be maximum of 5 inches high and 59 inches long.  Maximum width of spoiler will be measured across rear of spoiler.  A minimum of the top 3 ½ inches of rear spoiler on all cars must be made of clear, flat polycarbonate.  Maximum of 39 7/8 inches from ground to top of spoiler. 

Page 63, 8:  STRUCTURE:  (Add):   Front nosepiece and rear bumper covers must be stock, as purchased, and may not be altered or modified.  No dirt style noses. 

Page 63, 8:  STRUCTURE:  (Add):  Under-slung chassis now permitted; Add 50 lbs. 

Page 65, 17:  REAR END:  (Add):  Quick change rear ends now permitted; Add 50 lbs.
