Toledo “Road Course” Race Friday Night

Toledo “Road Course” Race Friday Night

(TOLEDO, Ohio - June 22, 2011) - Race fans will witness the second “Road Course” race in the history of Toledo Speedway Friday evening, June 24.  The event utilizes parts of the ½ mile, ¼ mile and pit road, making for a fun and entertaining event.  Friday night’s event is part of the Valvoline Instant Oil Change Summer Racing Series being held at the speedway.

The race is part of the Qualite Sports Lighting Night of activities, which will also include the ARCA ACME Dismantling Sportsman, R & M Recycling Street Stocks and the Jeff’s Collision 4 Cylinders.  The track will also host its annual Racing Fan Club Night Friday evening, along with the Point Place Business Association Night.

The Road Course race was rained out June 10 and reset to Friday night.  The event has very simple rules, which allows several types of race cars to compete against each other on a track that features a chicane in the middle of the ¼ mile track, shoots the cars down pit road, moves the cars up on the ½ mile in the back straight, through turns 3 and 4 of the big ½ and back down on the short track to the chicane!

Billy Earley of Romulus, MI was the victor in the first Road Course race last fall at Toledo in a Street Stock machine.

The gates will open at 5 p.m. and racing gets the green flag at 7:30 p.m.  The track is located on Benore Road at the I-75/Alexis Road exit on the Michigan-Ohio border.  The track phone number is 419-727-1100.  Log onto www.toledospeedway.com for further information.
