School Buses Highlight Toledo’s Burge Wrecking Night Of Destruction

(TOLEDO, Ohio - May 27, 2011) - AJ Padgett took the victory in the School Bus Figure 8 race as part of the Burge Wrecking “Night of Destruction” Friday evening at Toledo Speedway.   An excellent crowd ventured to the track to begin their Memorial Day holiday weekend and was treated to a very entertaining and fun evening.

The wild Bus Figure 8 show was filled with bone-crunching hits as the crowd roared their approval.  The track’s chief technical inspector, Jack Franzil, got over on his side, courtesy of Troy Herrmann.  Side to side hits, nose to tail slams and much more saw the front ends of 7 of the 8 buses wiped out!  Sam Hall, Dennis Whisman, Joe Koester, Herrmann, Franzil, Robbie Loving and Dave Arnold Jr. were also in the field.

Bus sponsors included Burge Wrecking, Valvoline Instant Oil Change Centers of Toledo, Speedway Bar and Grille, PB Fabrication, R & M Recycling, Jeff’s Collision, Mayfly Tavern, Froggy’s Saloon and Steve Grabke’s Body Shop.

Dennis Whisman led every lap as he outran Cory McCaughey to win the 12 lap Street Stock Figure 8 main.  Cory stayed right with Whisman the entire distance but settled for second.  Alan Bland Jr., Matt Ringger, Luke Davis, Craig Osenbaugh, AJ Padgett, Scott Apperson, Mike Hacker and Bill Carberry completed the top ten.
