Longtime ARCA Supporter Stadniczuk Passes
Tadek "Ted" P. Stadniczuk, 63, whose sons Tadek and Dave drive in ARCA-sanctioned weekly competition at Flat Rock and Toledo Speedways, died Wednesday Jan. 12 in St. Anne Mercy Hospital in Toledo. Tadek actively supported his sons' racing efforts in the ARCA Street Stock, Factory Stock and Enduro divisions at Flat Rock and Toledo; his brothers-in-law John Riddle and Ellis Shaw are officials for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards; and his nephew Greg Riddle is a Flat Rock and Toledo Speedway official.
He was born October 2, 1947 in Zaslaw, Poland, the son of Antoni and Ewa (Nestor) Stadniczuk. A 1966 graduate of Rossford High School, he married Michelle "Shelley" Yeager in 1970. Ted was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church, was an avid golfer and played semi-pro soccer. He was employed for 32 years for Chrysler Corporation in Perrysburg Ohio, retiring in 1999.
Surviving are his wife Shelley; sons Tadek and Dave Stadniczuk; daughter Amy (Scott) Helpman; 4 grandchildren; 4 sisters; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation is from 3-9 p.m. Sunday Jan. 16 at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd., Temperance Michigan (734) 850-5000. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday Jan. 17 at 10 a.m. in St. Clement Church, where he will lie in state after 9 a.m. Interment will follow in Whiteford Union Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Clement Catholic Church.
