Hantz Paces Glass City 200 Practice

(TOLEDO, Ohio - October 2, 2010) Scott Hantz set the pace during the final practice session for the 22nd Running of the Great Lakes Helicopters Glass City 200, presented by Cherry Picked Auto Parts this afternoon at Toledo Speedway.

Hantz, in the EMF #72, turned a fast lap of 14.866 s seconds, for an average speed of 121,082 mph. Hantz, the Pleasant Lake, IN veteran, has dominated in his appearances at Toledo, winning two of the three Gold Cup Late Model events at the high-banked half mile this summer.

Brent Jack was second quick at 14.949 seconds, and an average speed of 120.409 mph. Jack and Hantz were the only two drivers under the 15 second mark, and the only two to eclipse the 120 mph plateau.

Harold Fair Jr., who was fastest in the Friday night practice session, was third quick 15.134 seconds and a speed of 118.937.

The final practice session was interrupted on two occasions for sprinkles and a heavy mist early on. Track officials sent safety and clean-up vehicles out each time, allowing both the CRA Sportsman and the outlaw bodied super late models each ample practice time.

Qualifying for both the CRA Sportsman and the super-late model Glass City 200 cars is scheduled for 3:00 PM, with the racing action set to begin at 5:00 PM. There will be a 25 Lap "B Main"  race for the late models, and the the CRA Sportsman will compete in a 50 lap feature event, prior to the Glass City 200 feature race.
