Flat Rock Busy as Teams Prepare for Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150

(FLAT ROCK, Mich. - June 25, 2010) - A total of 21 ARCA Late Models took advantage of great weather Thursday night to prepare for Saturday's Flat Rock Speedway Moran Chevrolet/Stan Yee Memorial 150. 34 cars are entered for the race as of Friday morning. The race is the third leg of five in the ARCA Allegiant Air Gold Cup Series contested between Flat Rock and its sister track, Toledo Speedway.

The track never saw a lull during the four-hour practice session as teams ran lap after lap on the fast, quarter-mile paved oval, looking for that little extra. Stan Yee brought both of his cars to test, while Ron Allen ended the night in his Toledo car, the No. 88 yellow and black machine, opting for it over his Flat Rock car. Chad Finley made the 90-minute trip from the Lansing area to practice at "The Rock," and former track champs Dennis Strickland, Paul Pelletier, Royce Cornett, Joe Hawes, and Street Stock champs Dan Ford Jr. (at the wheel of Dick Barker's No. 45) and Steve Cronenwett Jr. were also at the track.

2008 Memorial winner Justin Schroeder, Brad Birr, Steve Cronenwett Sr., Jim Thiel, Steve Peters, rookie Ken Mathews, veteran Ed Hage, rookies Jim Alvis and Matthew Bullock, Jeff MacZink, Dan Trosen Jr., and Jack Varney Jr. also took laps to prepare for Saturday's event.

The cash purse should exceed $26,000 for Saturday night's event at Flat Rock.  The winner will take home $2533, and the race pays $533 to start, also in honor of Yee's famous No. 33 cars.  Each dollar payout for every position in the feature will end in 33. With the Diamond Racing Products $333 Fast Time Award and lap money available, a driver could win over $3000 for his efforts Saturday night.

A total of just 60 laps of lap money remain for the event. $5 per lap will go to the leader of the laps sold for the 150 lap race at "The Rock." A listing in the souvenir program and public address announcements are included. To purchase lap money, call the track at (734) 782-2480.

Entry blanks may be downloaded from the track's websites at http://www.flatrockspeedway.com/ or http://www.toledospeedway.com/.

The ARCA DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks and ARCA Figure 8s will also be in action for the June 26 event at Flat Rock.  The pits open at 1, practice begins at 3, time trials are at 5, and racing takes place at 7 p.m.  All tickets will go on sale at 3 p.m. Saturday at the track.
