Flat Rock Practice Sessions April 18, 21st; 7UP Opener April 24

Flat Rock, MI  (4-15-10)--  Since 1953, Flat Rock Speedway has hosted auto racing on the fast ¼ mile paved oval.  And some 57 years later, “The Rock” is still going strong!  Race teams are preparing for a pair of open practice sessions leading up to the 7 Up Season Opener, set for Saturday evening, April 24 at 7 p.m.information.

Practice days are set for Sunday, April 18, from noon to 5 p.m., with the pit area opening up at 10 a.m.; and again on Wednesday, April 21, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.  The pit area will open at 4 on Wednesday.  A variety of race cars are expected to take part in each of the sessions as the teams prepare for the 2010 racing season. 

Saturday, April 24 the ARCA Moran Chevrolet Late Models, the DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks and the Figure 8’s will compete in the 7 Up Season Opener.  Each division will run preliminary events and their respective feature races. 

The pits will open at 1:30 p.m. April 24, practice begins at 3, time trials are set for 5 and racing begins at 7 p.m.  The spectator gates will also open at 3 p.m.  Tickets for the April 24 contest are available on a walk-up basis only on race day.
