2010 season begins for Justin Schroeder with ARCA Allegiant Air Gold Cup Series opener at Toledo
CANTON MI (3-29-10) - For Justin Schroeder, the 2010 racing season can't come soon enough and it all begins for the Canton, Michigan driver on Friday and Saturday, April 16-17th at the 1/2 (0.500) mile high-banked paved oval of Toledo Speedway in Toledo, Ohio for the running of the Glass Breaker 75.
This is the first race of the 2010 campaign for the ARCA Allegiant Air Gold Cup Series for Outlaw Bodied Super Late Models held exclusively at ARCA sanctioned tracks, Toledo and as well as sister track, Flat Rock Speedway, just 20 minutes North of Toledo in Flat Rock, Michigan.
"I'm excited for the season to being. I've made a lot of changes to the body and engine and I know we'll compete for wins in 2010," Stated Schroeder as final preparations continue for the season opener at Toledo.
After Toledo, Schroeder will race in a variety of series' and facilities with primary focus on the ARCA Allegiant Air Gold Cup Series. The 23-year-old will also make several appearances in the Midvale, Ohio based Main Event Racing Series as well as all three legs of the Dixie Cup Triple Crown Series held at the 4/10s (0.400) mile progressively banked paved oval of the Dixie Motor Speedway in Birch Run, Michigan.
"For the 2010 season, we have included more traveling along with running some Main Event Series races. I am most looking forward to Lake Erie Speedway (In Northeast, Pennsylvania) I've wanted to race there in the past and we can finally make it this year." He continued. "I can't wait to return to Dixie. I ran well there the last race and found a great set up for the track."
During the 2009 racing season, Schroeder competed in the Dixie Cup Triple Crown Series held at the Dixie Motor Speedway in Birch Run, Michigan and finished a solid eighth in the final points standings with a season high seventh place finish in the 46th annual Dixie Classic 100 on August 7th, 2009.
He also raced in the ARCA Gold Cup Series, which is a five-race series between ARCA sanctioned tracks, Flat Rock Speedway in Flat Rock, Michigan and Toledo Speedway in Toledo, Ohio and finished 12th in the final points standings. Schroeder also picked up a feature win at Flat Rock in weekly competition back on May 30th in a thrilling battle with eventual Three-Time Track Champion, Eric Lee.
Schroeder began his racing career in Go-Karts in 1995 driving for his family-owned J.M.S. Racing Team. During his Go-Kart career, he compiled championships, numerous wins and, various accomplishments including multiple "Driver of the Year" honors at many of Michigan's various Karting tracks.
In 2003 at just 16 years old, Schroeder made the jump to full sized cars and began competing in the very competitive Street Stocks division at Flat Rock where he won the Rookie of the Year title while finishing an impressive 10th place in the season long points chase.
Schroeder made the leap from Street Stocks to Super Late Models in 2006 and won the Rookie of the Year title at Flat Rock that season. In 2008, Schroeder picked up the biggest win of his young career when he captured the Stan Yee Memorial 150 at Flat Rock and is widely regarded as a top-notch competitor in the Midwest who is no stranger to traveling to a wide range of facilities and layouts.
