CRA Sportsman cars coming to Toledo October 2; Part of Glass City 200 Weekend
TOLEDO, OH: (1-27-10): Toledo Speedway management has made a schedule change for the upcoming season, moving the ARCA Sportsman division's biggest race of the season to Friday, July 30 and signing the CRA Sportsman class for the October 2 Glass City 200 weekend as the companion event. The track's Sportsman cars will be legal to run with the CRA group for the final event of the season at the half-mile paved oval.
"Our decision to make this change includes several factors," noted Ron Drager, promoter of Toledo. "We will be able to concentrate our promotion and marketing efforts for the Sportsman race July 30 more than we could as being a part of the Glass City weekend. It will give us the opportunity to make it the biggest ARCA Sportsman race ever at Toledo." The 50 lap event will also carry a Friday, August 6 rain date."The idea of adding the CRA Sportsman class to the Glass City weekend fits with the Late Model portion of that event. The CRA is more of an invitational-type race, and our Sportsman cars will be legal for the event. Our end goal is to bring new teams and new fans to Toledo for this race. We believe this is a step in the right direction and a good fit for the October 2 Glass City 200 weekend."
More details regarding both events will be released as they are finalized. For the latest news on Toledo Speedway, go to http://www.toledospeedway.com/.
