Kyle Steckly, Rette Jones Racing, set to bettle in Toledo in busy weekend
It will be a busy weekend on September 13 and 14 for the Rette Jones Racing team.
On Friday, the team – led by 2009 ARCA Menards Series championship-winning crew chief Mark Rette – will go to battle at Watkins Glen International with Dylan Lupton as they chase an ARCA victory on the twisty road course in the Finger Lakes region of New York.
As soon as the checkered flag waves, the team’s attention will turn six hours to the west to Toledo Speedway and the CorvetteParts.net Glass City 200 with Canadian hot shoe Kyle Steckly at the wheel of the team’s familiar No. 30.
That No. 30 is even more familiar to long-time fans at Toledo Speedway. It’s the same number team co-owner Terry Jones carried to an ARCA Late Model Sportsman championship at the track in 2009.
Steckly, son of NASCAR Pinty’s Series champion Scott Steckly, has had a stellar season in his first year chasing the ASA STARS National Tour championship. He sits fifth in the series standings with three races remaining and has already visited victory lane this season with an impressive drive to win the Redbud 400 at one of the most challenging tracks the tour visits, the high-banked quarter-mile Anderson Speedway.
Rette Jones Racing’s recent history has seen the team come to the track with Hollywood A-lister Frankie Muniz and NASCAR Cup Series star Noah Gragson, who raced in the Glass City 200 for the team last year and has made a limited number of appearances in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with the team in 2024. Muniz, then a rookie, finished fourth in the ARCA Menards Series standings in 2023, while Gragson has scored three top-ten finishes including a season-best fifth-place finish at Nashville Superspeedway, in four Xfinity Series starts this year.
The CorvetteParts.net Glass City 200 is scheduled for Saturday, September 14 at Toledo Speedway. The day’s activities kick off with two rounds of practice at 11 am and noon, while the starting lineup will be set in Go FAS Pole Qualifying at 2:45 pm. Local racing, including the ARCA Salenbein Excavating Late Model Sportsman division and ARCA Safety Kleen Factory Stock division season championship features are set to follow, with the ASA STARS National Tour on-track autograph session after. Driver introductions will take place at 5 pm, while the green flag will fly over the 200-lap main event at 5:30 pm ET.
Tickets are available at ToledoSpeedway.com; please call the track office (419) 727-1100 for more information.
