TOLEDO SPEEDWAY APPROVED FOR FANS; THREE RACE SCHEDULE ON TAP
August 27, 2020: Toledo Speedway management has received permission to conduct racing events with spectators in the grandstands.
Toledo Speedway is finalizing plans to host race teams with fans in the grandstands for three premier racing events to close out the 2020 racing season. Grandstand ticketing will be limited to 1,500 with a standard admission price for all events of $25 per person, with specified seating locations to ensure social distancing and presale offering contactless purchasing.
With the limited schedule of races, and limited seating for each event, fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets as soon as possible. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, September 1 at 9 a.m. All tickets are $25 each, and tickets will ONLY be available online at www.toledospeedway.com. Tickets will be available for all 3 events beginning September 1.
In accordance with the August 19 State of Ohio Department of Health Director’s Order, Toledo Speedway’s plan for strict adherence to the guidelines outlined has resulted in approval by the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department for limited spectator attendance in the grandstands.
As a priority, the safety and health of participants, spectators and employees will require all attendees to follow guidelines posted at www.toledospeedway.com as a condition for admission.
On Saturday, September 12 the ARCA Menards Series will see action at Toledo Speedway for the 4th time this season, but for the first time with fans, for the ARCA 200. The Toledo race is event #15 of 20 in a schedule including Daytona, Talladega, Michigan International, Charlotte, Kansas and Phoenix. The spectator gates will open at 3 p.m, and the superspeedway-style stock cars will get the green flag at 5 p.m. in a 200-lap race run in three segments with scheduled pit stops at the breaks. Rain date is Sunday, September 13 at 1 p.m.
The signature event of the Toledo Speedway, the 32nd annual Glass City 200, will take place on its originally scheduled date of Saturday, September 19. A pair of 100 lap contests are on the slate, as the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by Jeg’s stock-bodied Late Models and the Outlaw-bodied Late Models hit the track in separate 100 lap feature races. CRA’s Junior Late Models, featuring 10-15 year old rising stars in full-bodied cars, will also be in action. Spectator gates open at 3, with race time set for 5 p.m. Rain date is Sunday, September 20 at 1 p.m.
A tradition at Toledo Speedway since the 1960s is United States Auto Club (USAC) open-wheel racing, and the USAC Silver Crown Series will be on hand as scheduled on Sunday, October 4. The Rollie Beale Classic is sponsored by Hemelgarn Racing and SuperFitness. A special addition to the race card for that date will be racing for four divisions of ARCA stock cars featuring local drivers—the ARCA Sportsman, ARCA Street Stock, ARCA Figure-8 and ARCA Factory Stock classes. The afternoon season finale will have the spectator gates opening at Noon and racing starts at 2 p.m.
