Toledo Speedway Grandstand Demolition Begins

(TOLEDO, Ohio - October 19, 2011) - Following up on Friday's announcement that Toledo Speedway would add a new grandstand system for the 2012 racing season and Sunday's season finale from the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, a Toledo demolition crew started to remove the half-mile oval's current seating areas on Tuesday afternoon.

Work began at 1 p.m. on the very seats where just two days earlier, race fans watched Chris Buescher drive past ARCA champion Ty Dillon and leader Brennan Poole on Lap 200 of 206 to win the Federated Car Care 200 and ARCA's Rookie of the Year Award.

The dismantling crew expected to complete the removal of all seats from the race track yesterday - except the center grandstand building - and begin removing asphalt today.
