Maran 3 for 3 in Flat Rock Enduros; Championship Race Sept 18.
Flat Rock, MI  (8-7-10) --  Defending champion Jeff Maran notched his third consecutive victory in Saturday night's 250 lap Enduro race at Flat Rock Speedway.  Maran will go for the sweep in the championship race, a 300 lap contest, September 18.  Tom O'Leary IV/Charlie Williams took the entertaining Figure 8 train race, while David Price was the top dog in the ARCA 4 Cylinder main event. The Enduro event saw 2 red flags, including a lap 15 flag when rookie Shay Crider slammed into the foam blocks at the turn 1 track exit gate.  Shay was fine and returned to the event, while the foam block was blasted to pieces, giving way to its replacement block!  Jeff Metdpenningen and Tristan DuPuis were early challengers along with Maran, but Tristan pitted early, losing over 30 laps in the process.  Maran took off and lapped the field on his way to the $1000 victory.  Metpdenningen was second, 1 lap, down, with Eric Huston third, Robb Remick fourth and Derrick Sheppard fifth.  Brian Ringger, Bob Swanson, Anthony Camilli, Brad Turner and Tom Holder completed the top ten.  29 cars started the 250 lap grind.

The championship event is 300 laps, and is set for Saturday, September 18.  trainsfr080710.jpgTeams will be working hard to figure out how to go the additional 50 laps without pitting for fuel!  The extra distance will add to the drama to see who has the right formula for victory!

A total of seven 2-car trains made up the field for the 12 lap Figure 8 Train race Saturday night, and action was plenty as cars spun, took evasive moves at the intersection and just plain used up every inch of the track.  At the checkered flag, Tom O'Leary IV/Charlie Williams captured the $750 top prize, edging out Adam Plonski/James McClure for the win.  Third was Howard Kelley Jr./Tom O'Leary III, fourth was Tom O'Leary Jr./Jim Brazeau, followed by Dennis Whisman/Dan Apperson, Trina Apperson/Ron Duvall and Scott Apperson/Jeremy Fragassi.  The next Figure 8 train race is slated for Toledo Speedway Friday, August 20.
