(NEWTON, Iowa - July 13, 2012) - Points leader Brennan Poole lost the top spot on the speed chart late in the first practice, but pulled the reverse just two hours later as ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards teams made final preparations for qualifying.
Poole led the second session with a lap of 23.601 seconds (133.469 mph), just edging 2007 Iowa winner Frank Kimmel with a mock qualifying run with only minutes remaining in the session.
Ryan Reed, Alex Bowman, and Chad Hackenbracht filled out the next three positions, with Erik Jones, Matt Lofton, Grant Enfinger, Mason Mitchell, and Jared Marks completing the top 10.
2010 Iowa winner Tom Hessert was 14th. Nelson Canache posted the 16th fastest time before wrecking midway through the session. Clay Rogers, who led the first practice, finished the session 18th, and Chris Buescher was 19th.
